The Padre Cup is an annual Marcos De Niza High School Alumni soccer game The Padre Cup is one of the oldest, if not the oldest played high school alumni soccer games in Arizona. Marcos de Niza Men’s Soccer has won 4 state titles, numerous regional and divisional player awards, and college scholarships. Thank you for continuing the tradition of giving your support to the current and future Padres. History Started in 2011 by Kevin Hoy (1980-84 MdN Varsity Soccer player) Annual Padre Cup Organizational Team includes Chris Esperti (1993-96 MdN Varsity Soccer player), Bobby Davis, MdN Boys Soccer Varsity Coach (2016 to present) and Sandy Allen, MdN Soccer Booster Treasurer (2016-present) Supported by the MdN Soccer Alumni Organization (tax-exempt EIN # 83-2361365) Participation Open to all MdN HS soccer alumni players 1980-2024 Participants are asked to donate to the Alumni Organization Donations are gratefully accepted from non-participating alumni, family and friends Proceeds All proceeds directly benefit the current MdN Men’s Soccer Program. Varsity Coach, Bobby Davis (MdN soccer Alum – class of 2008) oversees the use of funds to pay for fall and summer training programs, specialty tournaments, and other expenses not covered by the school or district. The Padre Cup raises approximately $800 in donations per game and has raised over $10,000 since its inaugural event in 2011. Player Information The game is a full 90-minute (more participants = more rest) All players are divided into their decade group, lined up with every other player placed onto either the Brown or Gold team. The winning team is presented with the coveted Padre Cup trophy for bragging rights and photo ops! An engraved plate with annual results is added to the Cup. Run in our annual Christmas Run, where we celebrate this festive holiday of thanksgiving, family, and friends. Run like a Reindeer, an Elf, Santa, or even a Snowman!We have some Christmas goodies for you after your run! Find a friend, set a goal, and join this super fun festive 5K, 10K, or 13.1 Half-Marathon run!Overview: Run will sell-out QUICK! We will close off waves the moment they fill up.
