Patrons of the Big Chicken Chorus are aware that we have presented Christmas Concerts since 1986, in venues around the Greater Atlanta area. At 3 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 we will begin our 2024 Christmas Concert at the Lassiter Concert Hall. If you are not familiar with this venue, you should know that it was designed to present musical concerts and offers acoustics that are extraordinary. The acoustics and ambiance of hall itself are worth the admission price for this concert. We also have a Spring Concert scheduled at Lassiter Concert Hall on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 3 PM. Our performance in December will include traditional Christmas music arranged in 4-part close harmony and performed by the Big Chicken Chorus, local Barbershop quartets , and Boardwalk, a local comedy quartet that features string instrumentation to some of their arrangements. Classic Cuts were winners of a Chapter quartet contest a few years ago and have been performing on our shows regularly since their victory. Those of you who have been to our shows are familiar with Marietta's favorite quartet. Also making debut performance will be Marietta Music Medics, a VLQ that has been performing primarily at Children's Healthare of Atlanta to bring cheer to the children there. Our feature guest performers today will be Boardwalk a very entertaining comedy quartet with two members who were members of International Champion Quartets: Jared Pookie Carlson (Tenor,FRED) and Mike Slamka (Lead, Power Play and Crossroads). Interestingly, Jared is singing Bass with Boardwalk and Mike is singing Baritone while playing the Bass fiddle. They are joined by Brad Hine, singing Tenor and playing Banjo, Ukelele, and guitar and Mark Schlinkert singing Lead. Both Brad and Mark have the distinction of being the sons of former Big Chicken Chorus Musical Directors.
