About Tett Tuesdays Looking to expand your creative circle? Join us for Tett Tuesdays! On the second Tuesday of the month, the Tett and community artists get together for an evening of creativity, conversation, and connection. This free community program helps participants to build confidence in the arts and promotes wellness through creativity. Tett Tuesdays provide a platform for peer-to-peer mentorship, where artists can share skills and resources, ask questions both big and small, and develop collaborations. Grab an art or craft project and join us at the Tett! Share what you've been working on, seek and offer advice, and participate in a variety of art-focused group discussions. All mediums and skill levels are welcome, barring open flames. Rebecca's talk will delve into her harrowing experiences, detailing her mental health crisis and attempt suicide, that led to her own arrest and 28-day detention in a psychiatric unit where she endured both physical and emotional abuse. She will discuss the challenges she faced and the strength she found to recover, ultimately leading to her recovery. She will then go on to talk about her local mental health organisation 'S.I.S - Strength In Struggles' that she founded in 2023 and the services available to individuals with East Lancashire. The night promises engaging insights into the complex relationship between mental health and the Police, aswell as the importance of resilience in overcoming adversity. Created for students in Years 9-12, the two-day Music Theatre workshops provide incredible opportunities to experience performing and being mentored by AIM’s own accomplished industry professionals REHEARSE AND PERFORM UNDER THE EXPERTISE OF AUSTRALIA’S LEADING MUSIC THEATRE PROFESSIONALS. DISCOVER THE ART OF THE TRIPLE THREAT AND YOUR POTENTIAL AS A MUSIC THEATRE PERFORMER. What will you do in the Music Theatre Workshop?Over 2 days students will work with AIM’s Musical Theatre industry professionals – Music Theatre, Course Convenor Stephen Gray, and Academic Lecturer for Music Theatre, Johanna Allen. Over the two days together, Beth's students will have the opportunity to learn and start working in the Indigo Dye Vats which are so important for the creative dyeing of their favourite cloth and developing skills for using Natural Dyes for INDIGO artwork. The students may have used the dyes before, and the new students will have a chance to gain many skills that will see them developing beautiful art cloth and designs during our two class days. Pre-stitch work using needle and thread, folding and tying cloth as we start the morning of our first day. Students choose and supply the size of their cloth supply for dyeing their own projects . We want to harness the power of the voice to explore or creativity, our understanding of musical concepts and its power in communicating musical ideas in collaboration. Improv Workshop This session is an introduction to the art of improvisation. Applicable to any instrument students will learn some of the key features of improvising that can lead to more creative outcomes across the board. Songwriting Workshop These workshops will centre around the tools and craft of songwriting. Looks specifically at the generation of chord progressions, melodies, and the idea of top lines in addition to lyrics. Students are encouraged to bring existing works to workshop as well as creating brand new works with their new classmates.
