Experience the joy of pottery at the Come Clay with me! Pottery Experience workshop in McKinney. This one-time class is perfect for adults looking to have fun and explore their artistic side. Teens aged 13-17 are also welcome if accompanied by an adult. Held at The Pottery Barn at McKinney Art House, the workshop takes place on December 2, 2023, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn the art of pottery through both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Each person will create two clay vessels, one on the wheel and another using various handbuilding techniques. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, along with clay and aprons. However, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes as working with clay can get messy. After the workshop, your pieces will be finished and fired in the kilns at McKinney Art House. The drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing process takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Once your pieces are ready for pickup, you will be notified by email. Please note that firing pottery can be unpredictable, and while every effort is made to ensure the best results, occasionally challenges may arise that are beyond our control. All the necessary tools and equipment will be provided, along with the clay. We do recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, as working with clay can be messy. We also have aprons available for use. After the workshop, your pieces will be finished and fired in our kilns. Please note that there may be some unpredictability with firing, as clay can sometimes face challenges during this process. However, we will do our best to make it right for you if any issues arise. Registration for the workshop is non-cancellable and non-changeable. If you are unable to attend, we may be able to offer your slot to someone on the waitlist. However, please note that a 3% credit card processing fee will be withheld for any cancellations. Missed sessions are considered "no-shows" and are not eligible for rescheduling or refunds.
