Come and experience this ancient game first played in the 13th century, although variants have been played since Egyptian times. Seemingly simple, this game requires plenty of practice and guidance to master, as the bowls curve when played! For this beginner's taster course, you'll be playing in pairs or triples, with plenty of experienced bowlers on hand to help with learning the game itself, as well as the etiquette of bowling. This 4-week course will be held 10:00 - 12:00 on four Thursdays in July: 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. The tea break midway through the session will allow for some social time, to get to know your fellow players. You'll need to wear comfy clothes and flat-soled shoes or trainers. There's plenty of nearby paid parking in the car parks in Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road or Charlton Shopping Centre, or free parking at Morrisons (three hours). Age UK South Kent Coast is delivering wellbeing activities for over 55's in partnership with Social Enterprise Kent, funded by Kent County Council (KCC). This subsidised activity has been made possible through KCC’s Universal Wellbeing programme. Join us for an IN PERSON class. This class will meet once at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Please reach out if you have any questions, and we look forward to seeing you! In this class, parents or caregivers will learn about basic newborn development, and what to expect in the early weeks of parenting. Topics include diapering, bathing, sleep cycles, general wellness and safety. Parents/caregivers will also learn some simple techniques to help sooth fussy babies.*One ticket is good for two care givers to attend class. Each attendee is given 3-4 minutes which means the pressure is not all about getting everything into a 60 second pitch (we may, at times, need to restrict each person to a maximum of 2 questions after their pitch, this will be based on number of attendees, if there is time at the end we can then return to any questions that were not asked) We will start the meeting at 7.15am sitting down for breakfast at 7.30am with updates from the club followed by everyone telling us about themselves. Join us for an IN PERSON session of the Breastfeeding 102 Class. This class will meet once at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Class material builds upon the information shared in the Breastfeeding 101 class, however you do NOT have to attend Breastfeeding 101 in order to attend Breastfeeding 102. Topics covered include: components of breastmilk, pumping, storage, returning to work and more! During class, one of our lactation consultants/counselors will go over key points and answer any remaining questions you may have. *Partners are highly encouraged to attend* We encourage you to attend our Breastfeeding 101 class as well. It is not mandatory, just recommended. If your schedule is better suited to attend Breastfeeding 102 before Breastfeeding 101, that works fine as well! *Please note* for our Winter in-person classes, if the weather forecasts unsafe driving conditions, class will be remote for that session.
