Michelle Levy, an interdisciplinary artist and storyteller, embarked on her dream artistic project abroad in 2018 after stepping away from a ten-year director position in the arts. Inspired by the compelling Holocaust story of a woman entrusted to her care, Levy established a network of partnerships in Poland to conduct research and engage the public. Together with Polish Jewish artist and writer Patrycja Dołowy, Levy embarked on a transformative journey across Poland and Ukraine, tracing their heroine's path during wartime. The result of their collaboration is PAULINA, an evolving performance work that has been presented in various iterations in Poland and New York. Levy is currently developing the final chapter of PAULINA, which will be a feature-length film.
With over 18 years of experience in producing exhibitions and artist programs in New York City, Michelle Levy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the discussion. She has showcased her work in esteemed venues such as Abrons Art Center, Dixon Place, La MaMa Galleria, and many more.
Bartek Remisko, an accomplished curator based in New York, will also contribute to the conversation. With a diverse background in curatorial studies and art administration, Remisko has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as Frieze New York and The Armory Show.
