The Kyoto International Manga Museum will renew and tour the first large-scale exhibition of the hit anime "Dungeon Rice" and will simultaneously hold the "Ryoko Kui Exhibition," the first exhibition of works by the original author Ryoko Kui. SIDE CORE is an art group that develops art projects that use public spaces and streets as backgrounds. His activities have been gaining attention in recent years, and this exhibition will be his first large-scale solo exhibition in Tokyo. For example, we use special methods to shoot highways, railways, underground waterways, etc., create installation works using street lights, guardrails, road construction signs, etc. that are visible in public places, and make mouse puppets that simply walk around Tokyo. SIDE CORE creates works such as documentaries by focusing on the unique public nature and institutions of the city and intervening and negotiating with them. His expression methods are constantly expanding and updating, and he is an artist who is currently developing and cannot be missed. In addition, this exhibition will not only take place inside the museum, but will also extend to the surrounding environment, allowing visitors to see how the imagination of the city can be expanded through art. In this exhibition, we will present a group of works divided into three themes based on our keywords of perspective, behavior, and storytelling. The perspective section presents a series of new three-dimensional works that simulate urban cycles using mainly street materials. The action section records the actions/expressions that intervene in urban situations and cycles with videos and photos. In the storytelling section we will present the latest version of the "Underground City" project, which has been ongoing since 2023 and explores Tokyo's underground spaces through skateboarding. Exploring the dark side of the city, accumulating small actions that feed noise back into the urban landscape. This series of actions involves the vision of a small part of Tokyo's urban system, but at the same time, they also touch off a chain reaction of cultural activism that transcends borders and time, and connects with people I think are unexpected. This exhibition consists of a group of works created using mathematical algorithms, music programming and 3D architectural data, which are installed in each space of "VS". Daito Manabe emphasizes that exploring the relationship between mathematics and music is the basis of his artistic activities. One of the sources of influence is the "Music and Architecture" (1971) by the contemporary Greek composer Yannis Xenakis. Xenakis is an experimental and innovative work of architect Le Corbusier in collaboration with architects at Expo 58. This pioneering expression can be said to be the origin of media art, in which the entire space is filled with organic light, color, video, rhythm and electroacoustics. The exhibition “Continuum Resonance” makes full use of PolyNodes (2024), a groundbreaking 3D sound software developed by Manabe in collaboration with Sinan Bokesoy (artist/composer). The software allows you to freely design and intuitively represent the movement and changes of sound in 3D space. By dynamically controlling the position, intensity and timbre of sound in space, and changing the visual elements accordingly, we have created an immersive experience that merges sound and visual elements. This allows the audience to experience audiovisual space like never before.

This is the first large-scale exhibition held abroad after the successful application for World Heritage status, with a total of 44 "first-class cultural relics", which are China's most precious treasures. We will display a group of aromatic treasures from the West and the North, Tang Dynasty masterpieces with deep roots in Japan, and exquisite Buddhist art.

Kinchakuda is one of the largest settlements in Japan, with 5 million Manjusha trees in bloom. When the flowers are in bloom, you can enjoy a view that looks like a red carpet. The Kinchakuda Manjusha Festival is held during the Manjusha flowering season, and there are stalls selling gourmet food and local specialties.

"Ghost" is a project started in Bangkok in 2019 by artist Korakrit Arunanondchai (born in Bangkok in 1986). The program explores various methods of “physical resistance” in the context of technology and progress in Tokyo, an international Asian city that embraces both human and non-human entities. Held in an international city where global capital and the desire for progress are deeply intertwined with tradition, Ghost Intervention will reveal how tangible and intangible forces have shaped and will continue to shape the world we live in.

How are we born into this world, and what is our purpose in life? In today's world, conflicts and divisions caused by fear of others we do not understand never end, from wars to familiar conflicts. Our actions, such as traveling, meeting different people, and talking to people with different views, are a way to bridge these divisions and make each of us happy, and perhaps this is the meaning of being born into this world. The exhibition will feature works by artists active around the world, including works from the Taguchi Art Collection, one of Japan's leading contemporary art collections, and works from the Hirosaki Brick Warehouse Art Museum. Mika Rottenberg opens the door to another world from a familiar space, Tuan Andrew Nguyen combines disturbing history with the image of a poetic journey, Rock Cafe and Nara give a glimpse into the history of Hirosaki, and there are works by Mari Katayama. Chiharu Shiota, who faces the world through her own body, is also the title of this exhibition, which will feature paintings, photos, videos and talks, including Akira Takayama's projects in the city, and this exhibition attempts to think about expressing life and happiness through various works such as performances.
