Detroit Lions tailgating at Eastern Market is back! The Eastern Market Partnership has updated the tailgating rules for the 2023-2024 season, so it's important to review them before reserving your spot. By participating in tailgating, you'll not only have a great time supporting the Lions, but you'll also be contributing to the mission of the Eastern Market Partnership. The proceeds from tailgating help to operate the markets, provide greater access to good food, and support local food businesses. For an elevated tailgating experience, Bullseye Event Group is returning for a second year and will be hosting a Lions VIP Tailgate inside Shed 5. You can purchase tickets for this exclusive experience at bit.ly/lionsvip. To make sure everyone has a fantastic time, the Eastern Market Partnership has made some changes to the tailgating rules. It's important to read and follow this year's rules carefully. The Partnership reserves the right to terminate parking privileges for those who violate the rules. Here's how you can purchase tickets: all tailgating tickets will be sold online in advance at easternmarket.org. The number of regular parking spaces available may vary depending on the Sunday or Holiday Market. Additionally, there are 22 spaces specifically designated for Motor Coach, large RVs, and oversized vehicles. On November 19th and 23rd, parking for these larger vehicles will be moved to Lot 7. Please note that reservations for Shed 2 & Shed 3 quads are only accepted for those areas. There are no reserved parking spaces within the tailgating areas, so if you want to park next to a family member or friend, you must arrive at the parking gate and lot at the same time and have the approved tailgating parking passes for the designated lot(s). Keep in mind that parking spaces cannot be saved for other guests. The tailgate and parking lots open at 7:00 am, except for the Monday night game on October 30th, when they will open at 3:00 pm. All parking lots must be empty sixty (60) minutes after the game, and overnight parking is strictly prohibited. Tailgating is only permitted in the posted lots at Eastern Market. It is not allowed on public streets, sidewalks, or alleys. Additionally, tickets purchased from Eastern Market are not valid in private parking lots. When tailgating, it's important to follow the rules set by the Eastern Market Partnership personnel. Failure to do so may result in immediate ejection from the tailgate lots. Please note that formal DJ setups are not allowed. Your tailgate setup must be contained within the space you purchased, and sidewalks and pedestrian walkways must remain clear and unobstructed. While electricity is limited and not guaranteed, small portable electric generators are permitted. However, electrical cords cannot create hazards or obstruct areas. When it comes to cooking, only State-approved gas/propane grills with fuel valve shut-offs and self-contained charcoal grills are permitted. Open flames, wood fires, and deep fryers are not allowed due to potential damage to the premises. Alcohol is permitted within the tailgate lots, but all activities must be conducted in accordance with the law. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited, and guests are urged to drink responsibly. Cleanliness is key, so all tailgating areas must be kept in a neat and orderly condition. Trash should be disposed of in proper receptacles, and hot coals must be extinguished and placed in designated bins. There are several activities that are prohibited during tailgating, including the sale of food or beverage items, the use of platforms or stages, ball playing and frisbee throwing underneath structures, the operation of unregistered vehicles, the use of drones or other motorized devices, and the use of amplified sound systems at excessive volumes. Advertising, selling of items, disorderly conduct, and the possession of weapons or firearms are also strictly prohibited.
