This festival concert is a highlight of the year. Roedean’s talented young musicians enjoy an opportunity to perform concerto movements with orchestra. This year the programme will include movements from Piano Concertos by Edvard Grieg and Dmitri Shostakovich, Henryk Wieniawski Violin Concerto No.2, Gabriel Fauré’s élégie for Cello and Giovanni Sammartini Recorder Concerto in F. Roedean Choir will be joined by parents, staff and local musicians to perform Lili Boulanger’s dramatic, beautiful and inspiring choral work, Psalm 130 “Du fond de l'abîme”. C Turtle C Turtle are one of those bands whose sound people can’t seem to pin down. Headlined by myself, I've cherry picked a lineup of some of the finest musicians I've come across so far: Spill - Alternative Rock band from Brighton, blending the raw intensity of grunge with timeless elements of classic and psychedelic rock. Spill has quickly made a name for themselves in Brighton & beyond during their first UK tour that saw them play 10 dates across the country from headline shows in Leeds to supporting Thistle in Exeter. Ross Stewart - Scottish-born singer/songwriter and musician based in Norwich, UK. His sound comes as a fusion of deep-rooted blues influence, modern americana, folk and rock, presented with a contemporary edge and feel-good flair. These classes are for you to focus on the experience of dancing, rather than what it looks like. Centred on enjoyment, with medium length dance sequences, and plenty of time for learning and embodying the movement. Previous dance experience is not required for you to attend this class. All my classes are danced in my own contemporary style, which has emerged from my years of training in Ballet, Flying Low, Release, Cunningham, Graham, Tap, Jazz and others… Each class contains warm up, teaching and dancing of phrases, cool down, finished with a relaxation.
