Paint pouring, or fluid art, is fun and creative! Spend an evening in a relaxed and engaging environment, learning the basics of acrylic paint pouring - find out how to select and mix your paint colours, how to create cells and more!
No previous art experience required. This is an activity suitable for all ages and skill levels. Bring your family and friends!
All supplies will be provided. You will leave the workshop with one 10 x 10 in. masterpiece. Please note that it takes approximately 72 hours for the paint to fully cure. You will need to transport your painting carefully (I'll provide a covered box that will protect your painting when you take it home!).
Paint pouring can get messy so dress appropriately. An apron or an old shirt is a good idea!
P lease note: This workshop takes place in my home studio which is in my basement. Unfortunately, it is not handicapped accessible.

In this beginner-friendly session, you'll learn essential soldering skills needed to repair a variety of broken electrical connections in everyday items. This skill allows you to turn your hand to fixing lamps, power cords, headphones, printed circuit boards and more.
With this 2.5 hour workshop, you will learn these practical techniques:
soldering electronic components to a printed circuit board (PCB)
making in-line splices and repairs to wire conductors
desoldering and reworking PCB components and connections
These skills will be gained while you solder together several types of wire conductors and replace their insulation. You will also complete a basic PCB project designed to introduce the participant to the fundamentals of electronic soldering skills. You will leave this session with new enthusiasm for repairing your home electronics and maybe even amaze your family, friends, and neighbours with your savvy repair skills!
Our instructor, Craig Pickthorne, works in communications for the non-profit sector and is a current Repair Café fixer. He has previously worked in the theatre and live event industry in Toronto for 22 years as a lighting and sound technician, and in scenery design and construction.

We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down.
We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options.
This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
