Chris Distefano | College Street Music Hall
Apr 24, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
New Haven
This event is Fully Reserved Seated on the Floor, and Reserved Seated in the Balcony. CHRIS DISTEFANOChris Distefano is one of today's biggest and most beloved names in comedy. He became the first stand-up comedian to sell out both the world-famous Radio City Music Hall and the Theater at Madison Square Garden on consecutive nights in 2023, but his fearless yet endearing stage presence and natural ability to connect with audiences around the world has made him a household name in not just comedy, but all of entertainment. Chris quickly rose to success after being named the funniest person on MTV for his show-stopping performances on the Guy Code/Girl Code series. From there, he went on to star in IFC’s Benders, co-host the Netflix gameshow Ultimate Beastmaster, and starred in his own CBS sitcom. In 2022, Chris was selected by Jimmy Kimmel to host Jimmy’s latest TV venture, Super Maximum Retro Show, for ViceTV. Outside of TV, he’s become one of the most well-respected and flat-out funniest comedians in the stand-up world. Fresh off his appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2019, Chris released his first full-length special, Size 38 Waist, on Comedy Central, which perfectly encompassed both his Brooklyn-born edge and nice-guy charm. His second special, Speshy Weshy, premiered on Netflix in May of 2022. When Chris isn’t on stage delivering his gut-busting jokes, you can catch him in his element in the comfort of his own couch where he records his wildly successful podcasts, Chrissy Chaos with Mike Cannon, and Hey Babe! with Impractical Jokers' Sal Vulcano, History Hyenas with Yannis Pappas, and Teach Me Daddy with Matteo Lane. All are among the most popular on all streaming platforms and have massive followings on Patreon. A big sports fan, Chris has hosted episodes of shows including MLB’s Off The Bat and MSG's The Bracket, and was invited by the Chicago White Sox to throw the first game pitch in the summer of 2024, Chicago Cubs in 2022, and New York Mets in 2021. Chris continues to travel the world on a sold-out comedy tour, entertaining thousands by poking fun at the world – and himself – with his uniquely warm energy. His much-anticipated third special is set to release in early 2025.

Private curator-led tour at the newly reopened Yale Center for British Art! | Yale Center for British Art
Jun 14, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
New Haven
Meet in the Entrance Court. Greeting by Martina Droth, Paul Mellon Director. About In a New Light: Five Centuries of British Art:
This installation sheds light on the surprising and complicated history of British art, bringing into focus the people and cultures that produced these artworks. From the sixteenth century to the present, Britain has attracted artists from all over the world, with their outputs as diverse as their origins. Many artists traveled or migrated to India, the Caribbean, and beyond. Individual and family portraits uncover the systems of class, gender, and race that undergirded societies around the globe and privileged the wealthy and influential. Other works depict landscapes, seascapes, manor houses, and cathedrals, often offering a record of the industrialization of an agrarian world. Allegorical, historical, and religious subjects further enrich our understanding of the expansive culture of a changing nation. About J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality: This exhibition, the first focused on Turner to be held at the Yale Center for British Art in more than thirty years, showcases the museum’s rich holdings of the artist’s work. Unequaled in North America, this collection includes some of Turner’s most acclaimed oil paintings, notably his masterpiece Dort, or Dordrecht: The Dort Packet-Boat from Rotterdam Becalmed (1818) and his celebrated later painting Staffa, Fingal’s Cave (exhibited 1832). Alongside these major works, the exhibition features outstanding watercolors and prints from the YCBA’s collection, including the artist’s only complete sketchbook outside of the British Isles. 12 pm: LUNCH AT ATELIER FLORIAN, 1166 Chapel Street (self-pay) Please let us know whether you can attend the lunch.
