Huma Bhabha Giacometti:Encounters | London
May 8–Aug 10, 2025 (UTC)
London
Curated by Shanay Jhaveri, the exhibition will feature major Giacometti works from the Giacometti Foundation, which will rotate with works by three contemporary artists for three months each—Barba will be the first of three exhibitions. Albert Giacometti (1901-1966) was one of the most important European sculptors of the twentieth century. His work, in response to the pain and destruction caused by World War II, offered new perspectives on human nature and the collective psyche. It is the exploration of these timeless and existential questions that forms the connection between the three living artists and Giacometti in this exhibition.

This format is part of a trajectory in McCarthy’s work going back to the 1960s of drawing and painting as action or performance.

In 2008, the BLAST Technique® was developed by Nick Davies, international trauma expert as an optimised, neuroscience-backed method for treating PTSD and trauma. This cutting-edge approach accelerates memory reconsolidation, providing a more efficient and effective resolution for both clients and therapists. Unlike traditional therapies, BLAST® rapidly and compassionately resolves trauma without re-traumatisation or emotional distress, making it a gentle yet powerful alternative to EMDR.

Nick will do a live demonstration with a volunteer, healing their trauma quickly and permanently, with compassion and kindness, with his evidence-based BLAST Technique®. Tracy Friend founder of Liberating the Heart and co-founder of the Law of Attraction Centre will share her experience of how Nick's BLAST Technique® released the emotional pain she had from her sister's suicide. This event is in honour of her sister Sally.
You will be given a powerful BLAST® 'self-care' protocol to take away with you to reduce feelings of anxiety, stress or low mood.
Tracy Friend will teach a five element Traditional Chinese Medicine healing sound meditation to help release any stuck emotions from the organs in the body. Tracy Friend is a leading spiritual teacher and one to one coach whose pioneering approach has touched thousands of people’s lives internationally over the last 22 years. Her teachings benefit from extensive knowledge and experience of different spiritual paths including insight meditation, non-duality teachings, traditional Chinese medicine, yoga, qigong and the Law of Attraction. She is co-founder of the Law of Attraction Centre and founder of Liberating the Heart.
Tracy ‘walks her talk’ with her work being a natural expression of her in-depth and extensive spiritual practice and study. She views spirituality as a deep inner calling to fulfil our highest potential in this lifetime of moving from the dualistic experience of life of the separate self to the oneness of knowing our interconnection with the world.
Tracy awakened to her true nature in December 2018 on an insight meditation retreat after over 10,000 hours of meditation practice. After she experienced the falling away of the separate self, suffering reduced dramatically and it felt like and continues to feel like emotions, thoughts and sensations arise in an infinite space.
She teaches the Law of Attraction, yoga and qigong to help people to create a life that is an expression of their soul and she teaches meditation techniques to help people to awaken more deeply to their true nature. Tracy holds a first class honours degree in Psychology. She has participated in over 35 residential silent meditation retreats in the UK, Malaysia, Nepal and India. Testimonials:
“Nick is very gifted and talented, going beyond symptoms and addressing root cause in a friendly and reassuring manner. He is very approachable and geared with tools and skills that have freed me of the residual impact of trauma I had experienced. I truly appreciate the preventative focus of the session as opposed to addressing just the symptoms. This session is having a significant impact on my life in many layers. And there I was only looking at addressing the symptom. Little did I know!!!”
“The BLAST Technique® session was crazy, in a matter of minutes I went from a state of horror, nausea and sheer emotion to feeling relieved, happy, like a weight had been lifted. I’m no longer explosive and have much more patience, the BLAST Technique® not only saved me but it also saved my life.”
“I continue to attend Tracy's workshops because her wealth of knowledge on spiritual practices is shared in an understandable and relatable way. I always feel like I've grown spiritually after I have attended. Tracy's gentle and supportive approach, alongside her enthusiasm for the spiritual path makes attending groups a fun and rewarding experience. My life has and is continuing to, shift and change for the better. Thank you Tracy.”

Casting & Sculpture in Jesmonite (Wed & Thurs, 13 - 14 August 2025) | London Sculpture Workshop,
Aug 13–Aug 14, 2025 (UTC+0)
London
You will have the opportunity to work hands-on, constructing geometric and curved forms, creating decorative effects using pigment and you will learn how to replicate other materials and textures using Jesmonite. Jesmonite can be used to replicate the appearance and texture of any surface finish, and even the finest of detail. It can mimic the appearance of most materials such as stone, wood, leather and fabric. It is strong and durable, can be pigmented to any colour and used to create decorative surface effects. It is often used as lightweight alternative to stone and concrete. It has become an increasingly popular material widely used by artists, designers and prop-makers. Jesmonite is a brand name for a group of products that have either a gypsum or cementitious base and a water based acrylic resin making it kinder to the environment than others. This two day course will teach you how to use both Jesmonite systems to cast from different types of moulds, how to colour Jesmonite, how to laminate it and how to use it to mimic other materials. Day 1: Introduction to the two different types of Jesmonite before experimentation with mould making techniques using Polypropylene sheets that can be cut, scored and folded to make geometric and curved moulds to cast into. You will learn how to use Jesmonite pigments to create decorative effects such as Terrazzo and marbling and make use of metal powders to produce imitation metal casts. We will finish the day by making a small, simple silicone mould ready for tomorrow and finishing processes such as polishing. Day 2: Using the silicone moulds, we will look at laminating Jesmonite to produce very strong thin castings before progressing onto making larger moulds (either in polypropylene, wood, card or moulds brought from home) to learn to cast hollow objects. In both cases we will be using the cementitious Jesmonite casting system to explore the types of imitation stone finishes. Please note there will be a 1 hour lunch break each day (lunch is not provided) Basic materials are all included. Please note the cost of the course includes 1 kg of jesmonite. Additional jesmonite is available to purchase on the day if required. Open to all levels including beginners. Please wear protective clothing. Health and Safety briefing will be given. 2025 Global Missions Conference: A New Generation | InterContinental London - the O2 by IHG
Aug 14, 2025 (UTC+1)
London
History has always advanced through the courage of those willing to follow God's call—boldly and in faith. From the prophets who spoke truth to kings, to the apostles who evangelised the world in a single generation, one truth remains: faith and boldness are the currency of spiritual legacy.
But every legacy makes way for something new.
As Moses led God’s people out of Egypt, it was Joshua who led them into the Promised Land. A new generation arose—not only shaped by the past, but forged by vision, obedience, and Spirit-filled leadership. That same call echoes today.
Join thousands of disciples from around the world,
14–17 August,
for the

THE TUMULTUOUS CITY - The Architecture of Covent Garden & St Giles | DEPARTS South/west corner of The Covent Garden Piazza
Aug 23, 2025 (UTC+0)
London
Today packed with tourists and the spectacle of boutiques, stalls and pop-up performances, Covent Garden and St Giles were together London’s original and varied West End. While one developed in the 17th century as the city’s first exercise in refined neoclassical town planning, the other became the defining slum of the 18th century; chronicled by artist Hogarth and urban reformers. In service to one of the city’s most celebrated markets, they evolved as rough and tumble districts that in the twentieth century fought and won one of London’s greatest architectural battles. In this walk, The London Ambler recalls clamour and change through the area’s best buildings and most eclectic streetscapes. A walking tour by The London Ambler - Mike Althorpe
