What began in the early 1990s as a small grassroots fundraiser for AIDS blossomed into a cherished annual community gathering. Over the years, the Sundance Stompede became a haven where queer individuals from diverse backgrounds united through their shared love of country-western dance and challenged the dance style’s traditional gender norms. The final Sundance Stompede marked the end of a remarkable era. Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede captures its historic weekend, chronicling the reflections of founder Ingu Yun and 15 participants as they celebrate the event’s enduring legacy and bid farewell with one last dance. More than a swan song of a beloved event, this tender and intimate documentary is a tribute to a community that used dance as a powerful vehicle for survival, celebration, and change for nearly three decades. San Francisco
Cultural Experiences
Event Description: San Francisco is behind other major metropolitan areas like New York City , Los Angeles County , San Diego , and Denver who have developed and adopted and are in the middle of implementing their own long-term food system strategies. It's time for San Francisco to catch up. Building upon the visionary work from our first summit, the 2nd Annual SF Food Action Summit: Cultivating Just Food Futures will unite San Francisco to transform how the City addresses food insecurity and take bold steps toward creating SF’s first long-term food system strategy. The summit will bring together community leaders, farmers, advocates, policymakers, restaurant leaders, and more to turn ideas into action and shape a just, regenerative, and resilient food future for all! Be part of the movement to imagine and plan a food system that upholds food as a basic human right – ensuring that everyone has access to healthy, nutritious, affordable, and culturally relevant food at all times. We encourage everyone to attend and, especially, farmers who labor for our city’s benefit, local producers and vendors, food service workers and their unions, restaurant leaders, healthcare, and grassroots leaders and organizations that feed our city’s diverse communities. Now, more than ever, it’s important that we come together as a city to ensure our basic rights are protected and that our food is valued as more than just a commodity. About FAACTS The Food and Agriculture Action Coalition Toward Sovereignty (FAACTS) was formed in 2022 when 30 local partner organizations identified the necessity of ensuring consistent and equitable access to high quality, local, fresh and culturally-inclusive food and nutrition services in San Francisco. Over FAACTS’ history, we have always looked forward. With all the chaos trying to prevent us from joining forces to build collective power, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of a shared, positive, joyful vision of the future. FAACTS Mission Our mission is to build a just, sustainable, and holistic food system, ensuring we are neighborhood-based and coordinated across every district in San Francisco, with the goal of nourishing our community in a way that is sincere, healthy, empowering, specific, culturally relevant, humble, and abundant. Circling: Relational Mindfulness and Authentic Relating | The Center SF

Apr 28, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
Cultural Experiences
Welcome to Circling! Over our 2.5 hours together, Morgan will guide you through a journey of deep presence in connection with each other. We will be noticing whatever arises within us as it relates to the others present, practice sharing our experiences in ways that take responsibility and invite others in, and learn to stay present and grow comfortable with whatever elements may come up. You will leave with new communication tools, a heightened sense of how to be with all of your states and others’ states, and feeling nourished by the depth, intimacy, and realness that’s possible with each other. What to expect: we will be sitting in a circle the whole time. We begin going around one by one, introducing ourselves with name, present state of being, and our intention for the evening; then we’ll do a warmup exercise or game that’s designed to either help us drop in more or acquire a certain tool for presence or expression; then we’ll either do both a focus circle (we choose one person to stay curious about) and a flow circle (it’s about all of us together as a group), or we’ll just do an extra long flow session. Close it off with another brief one-by-one go around of what we’re impacted by and taking away from our evening together. Schedule: we will close and lock the doors at 7:05, and will not allow latecomers, so as not to disturb the container we have already begun to create. Please get there a bit early so as to arrive and connect with a relaxed and ready state of mind. Bio: Morgan Klein is a Certified Circling Facilitator, Transformational Coach and NLP practitioner for leaders, Certified Hypnotherapist, and Family & Systemic Constellations facilitator, among other hats he wears. A twenty year veteran of the healing arts, he spent his 20’s as a Rolfer and bodyworker before discovering the power to change people via the greatest tool of all: the conversation. In addition to a thriving one-on-one coaching practice, he also regularly leads Circling classes in the Bay Area, and loves using what he’s learned, both personally and professionally, to help others become more alive. His Circling style is famous for a constant sense of awe and wonder, comfort with every dynamic possible, and a belief that given the right quality of presence, people can work their way out of anything. When he isn’t working with people conversationally, he can often be found swimming in rivers or hanging out with his nine year old. WARNING: This is a group where we practice radical authenticity and honesty. While we endeavor to communicate as kindly and consciously as possible, there is a chance you may become triggered. This is an excellent space to work through our triggers together, but if the thought of being challenged isn’t okay with you, we ask that you take care of yourself and not come. ** no refunds or exchanges are available for this event - you can sell or gift your ticket to a friend** Information Source: The Center SF | eventbrite

Breathe It to Believe It: A Somatic Breathwork Journey to Your Future Self | The Center SF

Apr 29, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
Cultural Experiences
Salman Hatta invites you to experience Breathe It to Believe It: a unique guided version of his Somatic Breathwork class. When you pair deep breathing with visioning, you give yourself space to believe new ideas about yourself. Showing up for the work is an energetic declaration, committing you to rewiring your electromagnetic nervous system for your body, heart, and mind coherence. This breathwork is an embodiment experience. It takes you out of your conscious, analytical mind and into your body’s electromagnetic operating system that controls your subconscious mind. Whether you have been through high stress/traumatic events or not, this modality is a powerful tool to clear your body. Everyday micro-stressors build up in our nervous system, and if we do not discharge this pressure from our body by expressing (ex-ing the pressure), then it can lead to de(pression) and su(ppression). Freedom is our birthright, and expression is the only way our bodies can complete the feedback loop of the experiences. This breathwork provides a safe container for full permission and expression so that the nervous system can work its way back to regulation and your authentic self can come forth. This experience employs circular connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release. This release may be in the form of moving, shaking, yelling, crying, or laughing and expressions of emotion (energy in motion). All of you is welcome during your session; no expression is right or wrong. Your body is simply moving it through you so that it may move out of you, allowing you to feel lighter. From that place, you will be guided to feel love and gratitude, connect with your higher purpose, and embody your ideal future self. Participants can expect to experience a powerful guided journey into neural rewiring through deep, cyclical breathing. Through this, powerful healing will take place, allowing the participant to clear away the old and invite in the new. Who is Breathe It to Believe It Breathwork for? Anyone looking for: - Future state embodiment - Clarity in life - Personal transformation - Releasing of trauma, stress or anxiety - Nervous system regulation - Stress management Please bring comfortable clothing and a water bottle. The 1.5-2 hour journey will include: - Opening - 1 hour guided Breathwork - Sharing/Integration Circle Salman’s life and spiritual journey in this world started in California and has led him to experience and serve the medicine of plants, breath, music and dance all over the world - from the jungles of Bali to the beaches of Costa Rica and all over in between. He is a multidimensional guide who produces and runs transformational retreats and events, supports people with psychedelic journey preparation and integration, coaches on life expansion, and curates music for ecstatic dance and sound healing. His purpose in this world is to help people expand their ability to access more freedom and love for themselves. Check out his online presence: www.instagram.com/the.shalman www.salmanhatta.com By signing up for this session you agree to these terms: I acknowledge that Breathe It to Believe It: A Somatic Breathwork Journey is a deep and powerful process. It involves rapid and prolonged breathing that is designed to activate intense emotional responses. I have notified the practitioners of any physical injuries, mental or psychological conditions I have. I engage in this experience willingly and take full responsibility for my own physical, mental and emotional experiences during and after the session. Contraindications: Breathwork is intended as a personal growth experience and should not be looked upon as a substitute for psychotherapy. It is not appropriate for pregnant women, for persons with cardiovascular problems, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, history of seizures, stroke, major psychiatric conditions, recent surgery, acute infectious illness or epilepsy. If you have any doubt about whether you should participate, please consult with your physician(s). Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their physician(s).
