Tickets to BODY HIGH are sliding scale. Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
BODY HIGH
is an 18+ femme, trans, and GNC-centered party where all attendees can, and are encouraged to take up space and dance freely without judgment. We honor the rich history and spirit of House music by recognizing the Black and Latinx queer club culture that birthed and shaped it, championing self-expression and community. BODY HIGH also intentionally welcomes club dance forms that historically originated and thrived in nightlife like voguing, house dancing, and waacking, while simultaneously inviting anyone to the floor to move and release.
COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Any violent, racist, sexist, classist, ableist, body-shaming, homophobic and/or transphobic behavior or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If anything or anyone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe, do not hesitate to reach out to the hosts at any time, and they will help you out. A club space is a community space. As a community we are responsible for taking care of each other.
Cyphers
A cypher is a freestyle dance jam where an open circle forms, and people take turns dancing in the center. Feel encouraged to try it, cheer each other on, or just keep dancing outside of it. Anyone can dance in the circle regardless of their experience. It’s a space for vulnerability, expression, and release.

Film Screening: Ten Times Better with Producer Jon Funabiki | Chinese Historical Society of America Museum
Apr 12, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
CHSA is proud to present this very special screening of Ten Times Better for the first time in San Francisco Chinatown. Join director Jennifer Lin for an in-depth and intimate exploration of her documentary about Chinese American George Lee's unheralded place in ballet and Broadway history as an AAPI dancer.
SYNOPSIS:
George Lee is an 88-year-old blackjack dealer who still works five days a week, a beloved figure in the pit of a downtown Las Vegas casino. None of the card players—and few of his coworkers—know of this humble man’s astonishing background: a child dance prodigy and refugee from Shanghai who became a teenage sensation in the original staging of George Balanchine’s
The Nutcracker
exactly 70 years ago, performing the “Tea” divertissement. George’s story is uniquely American: an immigrant striving to prove himself as an Asian pioneer in ballet and on Broadway, where he was cast by Gene Kelly for the original production of
Flower Drum Song
. The film is a tale of talent and perseverance in the face of hardship, and a reminder of the extraordinary stories behind the nameless faces all around us.

The Cleaving: Vietnamese Writers in the Diaspora Launch Party | Mechanics' Institute
Apr 12, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
Celebrate the San Francisco launch of
The Cleaving: Vietnamese Writers in the Diaspora
, the first and only book to gather the voices and perspectives of Vietnamese diasporic authors from across the globe, with Viet Thanh Nguyen, Isabelle Thuy Pelaud, Lan Duong, Aimee Phan, and Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai.
The Cleaving
brings together Vietnamese artists and writers from around the world in conversation about their craft and how their work has been shaped and received by mainstream culture and their own communities. This collection highlights how Vietnamese diasporic writers speak about having been cleaved—a condition in which they have been separated from, yet still hew to, the country that they have left behind.
Composed of eighteen dialogues among thirty-seven writers from France, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Australia, Israel, and the United States, the book expands on the many lives that Vietnamese writers inhabit. The dialogues touch on family history, legacies of colonialism and militarism, and the writers' own artistic and literary achievements. Taken together, these conversations insist on a deeper reckoning with the conditions of displacement.
Co-presented by the
Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN)

THE FULL MOON holds a special significance in many cultures, symbolizing a time of heightened intuition and spiritual growth. By aligning our Cacao Ceremony and soundbath with the energy of the Full Moon, we amplify the potency of our intentions and open ourselves up to profound transformation.
For Centuries, Cacao and Sound Rituals have been conducted throughout Maryzelle’s Ancestral Lineage of the Mayan people in The Smallest Indigenous Country in Central America - El Salvador.Maryzelle’s ancestry used Cacao & Ceremony as a celebratory ritual that opens the heart to its deepest desires and activations. Now, Drinking ceremonial grade cacao has been known to not only activate the heart, but as well as increase blood flow, boost mood, calm the nervous system, and ground us in the present moment within ourselves and with others.
Cacao is the most antioxidant rich superfood in the world and has high levels of Theobromine, which enhances Mood & Focus. Theobroma translates in greek as, “food of the gods.”- so along with Mayan Lineage, Greek Lineage as well believes in the true godlike power of this Medicine. We will fully dive and indulge into the magic powers of this Ancestral Heart Opening Medicine of Cacao through Breathwork, Intention Setting, Cacao Praying, and Heart Activations. To fully bask into the activation of this Medicine, we will step into our dreams with a healing soundbath.
Maryzelle’s strongest healing power throughout her entire life has been Music and Sound. The soundbath ceremony this evening will include frequencies from a Heart & Chakra attuned soundbath with A specifically tuned 7 crystal quartz bowl set, Tibetan Bowl set, Multiple Ceremonial Wind and Chau Gongs, Earth Elemental Koshi Chimes, plant medicine instruments & Much more. Traditional Sashiko Workshop | de Young Museum
Apr 12, 2025 (UTC-8)ENDED
San Francisco
Traditional Japanese Sashiko Workshop- Open to the Public
Sashiko translates as “little stabs” in Japanese and is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching originally used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair tears with patches. White (or sometimes red) cotton thread on the traditional indigo blue cloth gives Sashiko its distinctive appearance. It is used today for it's unique esthetic on clothing, wall hangings, table ware and bedding.
Join our workshop in the Kimball Gallery of the de Young Museum and learn the ornamental applications of this traditional Japanese stitching method from experts Toshie and Marico Chigyo. Pre-printed Sashiko material will not be used as a major portion of the experience instead students will be doing the tracing and marking of their own pieces. Students will take home a sampling of their Sashiko designs. A materials list will be sent after signing up. All students will bring some basic sewing supplies. Specific Sashiko items can be purchased from Toshie and Marico in a kit, $35, or students can source them themselves.
About the instructors:
Toshie and Marico Chigyo were born in Osaka, Japan in 1957 and 1959, respectively. They grew up with their aunt, Fukiko, who inspired them to create handmade clothing and other necessities for their daily life. Living in the U.S. since 1979, they have dedicated their lives to creating art and educating people about Sashiko. They create authentic garments, accessories, and non-wearable art. Their work ranges from smocks and jackets to handbags, pillows, and quilts. The unique creations were showcased at the Smithsonian Craft show in Washington D.C., the Philadelphia Craft Show in Pennsylvania, the American Craft Council (ACC) show in San Francisco, and group shows in Boston and New York. A Conversation with Saikat Chakrabarti | Manny's
Apr 15, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
Join us at Manny’s for a conversation with San Francisco congressional candidate Saikat Chakrabarti. Saikat was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's first campaign manager and her first chief of staff in Congress, where he led the development and launch of the Green New Deal. He's lived in San Francisco since 2009 when he moved here after college to start a company, and later joined Stipe as its second engineer. Come hear Saikat's vision for San Francisco, the country, and the Democratic Party.
Saikat Chakrabarti
was born in Fort Worth, TX, to immigrants from India. He came to San Francisco after college in 2009, like so many others, with dreams of making a difference and fell in love with the city. He started his own company here before joining Stripe as its second engineer.
He left Stripe to join Bernie’s 2016 campaign where he traveled the country building tools that powered Bernie’s unprecedented grassroots movement. On that campaign, he met an incredible group of leaders and together they launched an effort to recruit a new generation to Congress called Justice Democrats.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a member of their first class of recruits. He ran her 2018 campaign before going into Congress as her Chief of Staff, where he was in charge of developing and launching the Green New Deal.
He now leads a policy think tank devoted to developing comprehensive plans for how the government can deliver prosperity and economic security for all Americans through an economic mobilization to build a clean economy for the U.S. and the world.

Releasing Grief, Guilt And Shame : Tap Into Peace With Kate Winch | The Center SF
Apr 16, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
San Francisco
TAPPING WORKSHOP: Releasing grief, guilt and Healing Heartbreak: Tap into peace
With Kate Winch
Let go of grief, guilt and shame, self punishment, let go of the past, get back on track in life and feel peaceful. Grief and guilt can be so consuming, tapping can be so helpful for these emotions and help you feel lighter.
Tap into your vision.
Find out how tapping can change your life and you can shine and follow your dreams.
Tapping provides relief from chronic pain, emotional problems, disorders, addictions, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, and physical diseases. While Tapping is newly set to revolutionize the field of health and wellness, the healing concepts that it’s based upon have been in practice in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques which utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.
Your body is more powerful than you can imagine… filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing. With Tapping, you can take control of that power.
Release what is not working and move in the direction of your dreams.
We will spend the evening tapping away blocks to new beginnings, setting intentions and visualizing. This will be a powerful way to get focused, release blocks and tap into magic in your biz and life.
In the workshop you will:
1. Set your intentions
2. Tap away anger, guilt, shame + limiting beliefs and more + create a new beginning.
3. We with a visualization and get back in the zone.
Presale $33 // Doors $44
Tap and get some relief.
Tap into Magic Workshop Testimonials
Here is what some previous workshop participants have written
” I feel lighter than I have in years.”
“If you are looking to create abundance in your life….this is an amazing workshop. I did it last year and my income went up 4 times…and so much has shifted. I am amazed at how much I had created from it!! Go!! you will love it”.
Kate H.
“I have done 10 years of personal growth with dedication and commitment, it covered a lot of ground but the synthesis of EFT and the group environment was one of the most impactful experiences I have had in terms of uncovering old beliefs and patterns. I feel healed from all the tapping we did. Thank you, Kate, your Goddess energy was elegant and radiant today and it was a joy to watch you in your essence and doing your part of healing wounds of so many people. You are a blessing and a gift”.
Laura
” This is my first experience of tapping and I really did not know what to expect. It was a wonderful experience and I feel so much lighter. Kate is such an amazing facilitator, she made it easy to follow and has a very loving supportive way about her, I highly recommend Kate as the person to learn from and go to”.
Michael
“Kate created a safe space where people feel free to speak their truth. It is amazing that Miracles happened even during the workshop”.
Julie
” I have read testimonials on all sorts of healing modalities that proclaim these wildly successful personal transformations. I have always taken them with a grain of salt, thinking these huge breakthroughs are (a) Impossible OR (b) only impossible for those who don’t have MY problems”.
A trusted friend Kim recommended it and what I cannot believe and didn’t expect is that I would be one of the people who had the breakthrough and feels one of my biggest blocks articulated and dissolve, I am walking out the workshop feeling lighter than I have in years! Thank you !”.
Jen
” I was amazed by how powerful the group experience was. Holy ******** !!!! ”
Alyssa
” I really feel like I tapped into the abundant free energy available in the universe and greatly appreciated the feedback and affirmations.”
Nina
“I have been meaning to sit down and write you for quite some time. Some AMAZING shifts are occurring in my professional life right now and you deserve some credit. I really wasn’t very in touch with how miserable my future prospects with my job were making me until I attended your tapping class and balled my eyes out for 3 hours straight. I continued tapping whenever I would steam at the gym…. there’s something about a warm, dark sauna and the tapping. A dual release I guess… very birth like, LoL.
Anyway, through whatever cosmic mischief that was released, I now find myself fully shifting into an extraordinary new career as a graphic facilitator in a position I get to design. I use all of my artistic capabilities, plus cultivate my love of facilitation and business strategy… and it’s literally double my old salary. I work with a great team for a great company. When I think of all the avenues open in front of me, there isn’t a one that makes me shudder with misery. Sure there are challenging pieces… but I feel as though I have vaulted over an enormous gap and landed in a brand new Vista waiting to be explored.
It wasn’t a hard or long road to get here either– in fact from outside it looks rather like magic. This is the sort of miracle I used to read and snort at… but now it’s me and I am thoroughly blown away. Thank you so much for doing your good work. It changed my life and I will never stop urging people to attend your Abundance Class”.
