Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is a popular urban aquarium in Tokyo, located near Shinagawa Station. The aquarium is home to approximately 18,000 marine creatures from 450 different species. The aquarium hosts seasonal events throughout the year, themed after each season, such as cherry blossoms in the spring, fireworks in the summer, and Christmas in the winter. In collaboration with creative company NAKED, inc., Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa will host its first fall-themed event, "NAKED MOMIJI AQUARIUM," from September 13 to November 17, 2024.
Themed “Autumn Leaves Viewing,” the event will feature a variety of content throughout the venue, including stunning digital art by NAKED, INC., fused with marine life to paint the underwater world red. The aquarium’s famous dolphin show will also be part of the Autumn Edition, with different shows during the day and at night. The daytime edition will feature dancing dolphins, themed after the harvest festival in autumn, while the nighttime edition will feature a beautiful show set to the melodies of autumn leaf art and Japanese instruments using digital technology and projection mapping.

The exhibition will trace the flow of Maitreya, the "Future Buddha" that originated from the two great Buddhas of the East and the West, built in the caves of the Bamiyan ruins in Central Asia, with masterpieces such as sculptures from Gandhara in India and ancient temples in Nara such as Horyuji in Japan, as well as Buddhist statues and paintings handed down from various places. In addition, this exhibition will release for the first time replicas of the Great Buddha murals destroyed by the Islamic fundamentalist organization Taliban in 2001, which were drawn from sketches and photographs during the investigation.
