Boston
We have teamed up with local bookshop Papercuts JP and our amazing sponsors Cervone and Deegan to bring you a series of reading and writing events!Join us for a talk by two local authors and priests, writing on immigration, belonging and faith. Timothy Crellin is an Italian-American, Episcopal priest raised in Boston and educated at Harvard Divinity School, as well as author of The Land of the Living, published in February. The historical novel explores the themes of immigration and assimilation, war and its impact on families, the role of race and class in forging identity, and what it means to find home. The story follows Italian immigrants Angela Amorelli and her husband Tommaso through Ellis Island and on to their new life in a New England fishing town. Published by Green Place Books in February this year. Cristina Rathbone is former award-winning reporter and Episcopal priest whose mother was a Cuban-refugee, and whose book The Asylum Seekers: A Chronicle of Life, Death and Community At The Border was published by Broadleaf Books in March. The narrative account of the US-Mexico border weaves intimate portraits of Mexican asylum seekers in a makeshift camp with broader reflections on the meaning of faith in a place of suffering. Field Trip: South End Architectural Walking Tour with David Hacin (BOS) | Tatte Bakery & Cafe | South End
May 1, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Boston
Join us on
Thursday
, May 1 from 3–5pm ET
for a guided architectural walking tour of Boston's South End.
Join Hacin President and Creative Director, David Hacin, FAIA, on a walking tour through his home neighborhood that will highlight classic South End moments such as the bow-front townhouses of Union Park and the vibrant thoroughfare of Tremont Street, as well as the up and coming SoWa Art and Design District (with nods to the firm’s various projects from the past three decades along the way). The tour will last approximately two hours with a networking session at Tatte on Harrison Avenue to start and ending at the Boston Center for the Arts.
The South End has a long history of reinventing itself. Comprised of mostly marshland during the time of Boston’s founding, the neighborhood was filled in in the mid-1800s and was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Most recently, its transformation in the last thirty years has changed it from a neighborhood trapped in a frustrating cycle of neglect and disinvestment to one of the most vibrant and beloved parts of Boston, with a resonant architectural character and an effective process of incremental urbanism.
Architecture and design firm Hacin has long called the South End its home and the firm’s extensive body of work in the neighborhood includes townhouses and historic renovations, restaurants, a public park, a community garden, hundreds of housing units across the spectrum of affordable and luxury, and a non-profit headquarters. Over the studio’s thirty-year history, Hacin has demonstrated a commitment to the community and has been grateful to play a part in the area’s current success.

The Good Ole Girls' Network Inaugural Event:
Come and fulfill your cup!
This is the event you've been waiting for! Join us at
3
45 Harrison Ave
for an evening of connection, empowerment, fun and fulfillment. The Good Ole Girls' Network is all about removing the obstacles preventing you from living your most fulfilled life. Come ready to make new friends, share stories, and leave feeling inspired. Raffles and door prizes! Let's fill our cups together!
The GOGN was founded in authenticity from a place of ridding one's life from external expectations and becoming clear on one's why. From this origin grew the understanding of the role that core values, label liberation and external expectations play on one's journey to fulfillment. We can return to ourselves, relieve our own discomfort and get on about a fulfilling life in every aspect.
