Join Dublin Concert Band for a joyful and relaxed hour of contemporary, rock and pop music in the gorgeous 1WML building. The programme will include Kit Turnbull's Everything Starts from a Dot, an atmospheric three-movement work inspired by three of Kandinsky's painitings, as well as Stephen Bulla's playful Rhapsody for Flute with DCB flautist Alice Nolan stepping into the solo spot. Safeguarding 3 - Designated Liaison Person(DLP) A person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) position in a club must have completed the Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course (Safeguarding 1 Workshop) and should complete the NEW Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. A club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles. The third part of the ISC Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TULSA Child and Family Agency or Social Services (NI) and/or An Garda Siochán / PSNI. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role, the Club Children's Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role. The organisation's child protection policy and procedures should include the name and contact details of the Designated Liaison Person and the responsibilities attached to the role. The Sport Ireland Code has been adopted and implemented by governing bodies of sports, clubs, local sports partnerships and community/voluntary groups on an ongoing basis since 2000. It has been encouraging to see the common sense approach to the adoption of the code at grass roots level, which has resulted in protection for young people and leaders. A current studio artist at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Irvine is known for her ability to weave intricate narratives that explore themes of memory, history, language, and human relationships. Her work often combines the personal with the political, creating immersive, multi-sensory experiences that challenge and engage audiences. Whether in single-screen format or in more complex installations, Irvine creates open-ended narratives in which image and musical score overlap, coalesce and diverge. Moving between overt musicality and the edges where a sound begins or ends, Irvine focuses on the rigours and pleasures of editing, of playing an instrument, bringing together the private space of practice with the possibilities of performance it anticipates. Family Climbing taster session A Taster Session is designed to suit the novice climber. All climbing equipment will be provided. A qualified instructor will take you climbing. The instructor will show you how to be lowered down the wall safely. Once this is mastered you will be brought through the building to try various angled climbs as your confidence grows. For the first time ever CCI is hosting a national 5 Aside Football Tournament for the churches in the movement led by Niall Byrne and partnership with Sports Chaplaincy. This is a place for you to build community, connection and participate in competetive fun with those from your community and across the island. This could also be a great evangelistic opportunity to share faith with friends through sport! How it works: Each church is welcome to bring up to 2 teams of 8 to participate. It is €80 per team. There will be time and space for 16 teams to play against one another, head into quarter finals, semi finals, etc with the winning team taking home bragging rights and a shield!
