Conversational Lube at the MOXY!!!- Your fav LIVE comedy dating show!! | Moxy Portland Downtown
Jul 5, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Portland
We're bringing your FAV live comedy dating show to the Moxy Portland Downtown!!!!
91.5% of first dates suck purely because of awkward, dull, boring conversations.
Conversational Lube is here to FIX that.
You’re invited to the FIRST real time, live comedy dating show!! Singles will be matched, meet for the first time, then join a comedian on stage (the lube) to have a first date!
YES, we will be putting audience members on BLIND DATES in real time at the show!
That means YOU, yes, YOU can come and possibly find your soul mate! (Or at the very least go home with a funny af story.)
Each couple will have a date on the stage and be joined by a licensed professional* (*fully unlicensed comedian) to LUBE up the conversation to make sure it flows, is entertaining, and fully capitalize on any weird shit that comes up. (The last part mostly for the sake of the audience and laughs.)
Hosted by stand up comedian and writer, Cait Chock, who is single for MANY reasons but NOT because she can’t dazzle a first conversation. She shines in a first impression then actively decays like a free radical. She’s a lost cause but she’s using her conversational skills to help YOU find love!
We may not guarantee you find love but we DO guarantee it will be a helluva lot more fun than another boring and slightly deranged tinder meet-up.
ALL are welcomed, even you monsters already happily in love can come, eat, drink, laugh, and watch the rest of us squirm!
Apps suck. Approaching strangers in the wild is scary. Hitting on your Trader Joe’s cashier is not cool. A comedy show is your best bet!
Don’t settle for shitty, boring, vanilla conversations…apply conversational lube.
Check us out on Instagram
@conversationallube
and slide into those DM’s if you’re a single looking to be set up on a future show!
LOCATION: Moxy Portland Downtown
585 SW 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97205

Chesil Wildlife Discovery Walk | Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre
Jul 8, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Portland
Join us for a guided walk to spot some of the wildlife found along Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon.
Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon are internationally important areas for nature conservation, supporting a great diversity of wildlife and their associated habitats.
Throughout the guided walk, we will be looking out for birds, plants and any other species that can be found along the nature reserve, including oystercatcher, little egret and rock samphire. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and more information about the nature reserve will be given throughout the walk.
The walk will start 10am and will last for approximately 1.5 hours. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time.
Please bring with you binoculars and if you have a telescope, that may be useful too. We do have a very limited number of binoculars to borrow and there will also be use of a telescope.
This event is suitable for beginners to birdwatching and for families, but all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Sturdy footwear (e.g. walking boots) is recommended as we will be going over some uneven ground, and as the site is fairly exposed, please bring with you plenty of warm clothing and waterproofs just in case!
There is a large council-owned pay and display car park (Chesil Beach Pay & Display) next to the Wild Chesil Centre. Please note, parking charges are not included in the event ticket cost.
If coming by public transport, the number 1 bus runs regularly between Weymouth and Portland. The closest bus stop is at Ferrybridge then it's approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the centre.

Here's Lisa Graff on how she started her nursery business:
I've had a passion for flowers for decades, but four years ago turned that passion into a business and started a nursery. With Lux Perennials Nursery, my aim was to grow truly special plants that can make a dramatic statement in a garden by offering varieties that are very long blooming, have exciting color and form, or are rare cultivars.
Years of research went into building a unique plant collection for my own garden, collecting perennials of all kinds, including perennials I've never seen in the US, but well suited for a northwest garden. Lux Perennials is on 37 acres northwest of Portland, including a 1-acre English style garden with ponds, waterfalls, fountains, mountain views, and flowers, flowers, flowers. Over 7,000 blooming plants. Resident chickens and ducks and koi fish. Our plants are grown on-site from the "mother" plants in the garden.
