Folk belief (Fish Shop Drunken Dragon Festival), a traditional folk custom popular in the fresh fish shops of the Macao Special Administrative Region, is one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Macao Fish Shop Drunken Dragon Festival, also known as Macao Fish Shop Drunken Dragon and Lion Dance Conference, is held on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month every year. The main activities of the festival are parading the Drunken Dragon Dance and distributing free dragon boat head rice. As a sacrificial ritual, the Drunken Dragon Dance expresses the people's gratitude and gratitude to the gods. On the evening of the seventh day of the fourth lunar month every year, residents of Macau who are engaged in fishery wholesale or retail gather in the vegetable market, sit on the ground, and eat around the table, forming a tradition of eating "Dragon Boat Head Longevity Rice". The next day, members of the Macau Fresh Fish Association took to the streets to participate in the parade and dragon and lion dances. People who dance the drunken dragon must drink a lot of wine and only dance the dragon when they are drunk. The drunken dragon dance only has a wooden head but no body. The dragon body is drenched in "five spices" made from five spices, and Taoists chant sutras and perform rituals. After a solemn and grand eye-opening ceremony, the drunken dragon dance team begins to perform and parade around the main vegetable markets in Macau. Unlike traditional dragon dances, Macau's "drunken dragon" only has two parts, the head and the tail, made of solid teak. The dancer is drunk and staggering, and someone is accompanying him to force him to drink along the way, which seems to be full of humor. The dragon head is full of burning incense sticks, and there is also a person holding a bunch of burning incense leading the way. Gongs and drums are beaten along the way, followed by lion dances, which is very lively. In front of the Sanjie Guildhall in the Camp Market, dragon boat head longevity rice is distributed, and anyone can go to receive it. It is said that after eating this "dragon head rice", you can live a hundred years and have both children and wealth.
