The flagger training course is from the ATSSA curriculum. It will give you the opportunity to work as a certified flagger and be listed on the National Flagger Database as well as certification valid for three (3) years in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. When certificatiom is renewed, you will also be renewed on the National database. As a trained flagger, you will be able to establish proper warning and traffic control in a work zone to assure the safety of workers and to ensure traffic moves safely and consistently. Registration Fee: $75. Registration fee includes book, test, and flagger certification cards. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Registration closes 24 hours before the start of the class. Non-refundable for no-shows. A refund (minus the $6.74 processing fee) will be given for students who withdraw no later than one day before the scheduled flagger class. There is a required minimum of 10 students per class. If enrollment is less than 10 by the Wednesday before the class starts, class will be cancelled and students will be contacted. Students will then get an option of a full refund of $75 or to be moved into the next flagger class. Course Requirements Pre-registration is required.Must be 18 years of age at the time of the class.Must have picture ID to present on the day of class.Must pass test with 80% or better to obtain certification. As part of The North East Cycle Hub Road Show, our project partners are hosting a series of Fundamentals Maintenance classes across Aberdeen City. You will learn to identify all the parts on a bike and how to make small adjustments that will help you get home or to a bike mechanic. This fundamental beginner class covers the basics of what parts are called, how they work and how to clean and lubricate said parts to keep them functioning efficiently. Clothing: Wear something you don't mind that may get grimy (aprons and PPE will be provided). Support: Please let us know in advance if there are any medical or learning requirements. We will endeavour to facilitate these if possible. The class is 3 hours long, starting at 6pm and ending at 9pm. Can I bring my own bike to work on? No. We will provide bikes to work on as there is a high chance that they may be damaged during the class and we wouldn't want you to be stranded without a bike. What is NECH? North East Cycle Hub is a collaborative project designed to be a catalyst for bike re-use in the North East of Scotland. Aiming to see thousands of unwanted bikes across the North East saved from scrap and instead given a new lease of life in support of local people and causes. Creating a network of local partners that transform old, donated bikes into refurbished models ready for resale for worthy causes. The project is funded by NESTRANS and facilitated by CycleHub.Org collaborating partners within the project currently include; Stella's Voice, The Bikery, Magpie, Camphill School and BeCycle. As part of The North East Cycle Hub Road Show, our project partners are hosting a series of Fundamentals Maintenance classes across Aberdeen City. You will learn to identify all the parts on a bike and how to make small adjustments that will help you get home or to a bike mechanic. This fundamental beginner class covers the basics of what parts are called, how they work and how to clean and lubricate said parts to keep them functioning efficiently. Clothing: Wear something you don't mind that may get grimy (aprons and PPE will be provided). Support: Please let us know in advance if there are any medical or learning requirements. We will endeavour to facilitate these if possible. The class is 3 hours long, starting at 6pm and ending at 9pm. Can I bring my own bike to work on? No. We will provide bikes to work on as there is a high chance that they may be damaged during the class and we wouldn't want you to be stranded without a bike. What is NECH? North East Cycle Hub is a collaborative project designed to be a catalyst for bike re-use in the North East of Scotland. Aiming to see thousands of unwanted bikes across the North East saved from scrap and instead given a new lease of life in support of local people and causes. Creating a network of local partners that transform old, donated bikes into refurbished models ready for resale for worthy causes. The project is funded by NESTRANS and facilitated by CycleHub.Org collaborating partners within the project currently include; Stella's Voice, The Bikery, Magpie, Camphill School and BeCycle. This event is one of the NECH project's impact events. These impact events are designed to encourage bike reuse and repair across Aberdeenshire and the City while promoting modal change by making bicycles more accessible and affordable.
