May 13–Aug 2, 2025 (UTC)
London

Yearwood-Dan’s debut exhibition with Hauser & Wirth takes place in London, featuring new paintings ranging from monumental to intimate in scale, including an expansive 11m-long panelled landscape painting, alongside richly adorned ceramic sculptures and benches. The lyrical quality of the paintings is complemented by a new sound piece made in collaboration with the composer Alex Gruz, a reflection on the analogous experience of art and music alike. The title of the show, ‘No Time for Despair,’ is a call to action, referencing an article written by Toni Morrison for The Nation, which states, ‘In times of dread, artists must never choose to remain silent.’

The Musicals <Stereophonic> | The Duke of York's Theatre
May 24–Sep 20, 2025 (UTC)
London
Stereophonic mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976. Here, an up-and-coming rock band recording a new album finds itself suddenly on the cusp of superstardom. The ensuing pressures could spark their breakup — or their breakthrough.
Written by David Adjmi, directed by Daniel Aukin, and featuring original music by Arcade Fire's Will Butler, Stereophonic invites the audience to immerse themselves — with fly-on-the-wall intimacy — in the powder keg process of a band on the brink of blowing up.
Stereophonic became the most Tony-nominated play ever after receiving a record-breaking 13 nominations.

London
This summer, visitors to the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will see a special exhibition, The King’s Tour Artists, featuring over 70 works of art from His Majesty’s own collection, many on public display for the first time.
In the spring of 1985, the then Prince of Wales invited, at his own expense, John Ward to join a royal visit to Italy as the official tour artist, with the brief to draw or paint whatever inspired him. For the past 40 years, official tour artists have been personally selected by The King to accompany him on royal overseas tours with the brief remaining largely unchanged throughout. Forty-two artists to have undertaken this role, who collectively have visited 95 countries during 69 tours, will be represented in the exhibition.
The works on display in the Palace’s Ballroom, chosen from a selection made by The King, will provide glimpses of life on a royal tour, capturing the tone, colours and atmosphere in ways that differ from a photographic record.

Admonitions of the instructress to the court ladies | The British Museum
Jul 14–Aug 25, 2025 (UTC)
London
Traditionally attributed to Gu Kaizhi (about AD 345–406), it probably dates to between AD 400 and 700. Due to conservation precautions, it can only be displayed for six weeks a year. The Admonitions Scroll depicts a poetic text composed by an official Zhang Hua (about AD 232–300) aimed at correcting the behaviour of an empress. The Scroll carries inscriptions by later collectors including the Qianlong emperor (r. 1736–1795). The British Museum purchased the Scroll from Captain Clarence Johnson (1870–1937) who was in Beijing in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion (1899–1901). Originally a handscroll, the painting and later inscriptions were separated and mounted onto panels in 1914.
Pewter Casting Course (Sat & Sun, 19 - 20 & 26 - 27 July 2025) | London Sculpture Workshop,
Jul 19–Jul 27, 2025 (UTC+0)
London
Experiment with modelling in wax and create an artwork to be cast in pewter metal. Pewter is a silver coloured alloy which melts at a low temperature and can easily be cast on a gas hob. The pewter we use for this course is lead free and has a high tin content which makes it soft to work and very good for hammering and shaping after it has been cast. Traditionally pewter has been used for cups and plates but it can also be used to cast metal sculptures and is very good for making fine intricate work. It also works well combined with wood or stone. This is a 4 day course: Day one Experiment with different waxes to make a small sculpture to cast. You may also bring in a wax you have already made to cast, but please be aware that due to the rising costs of pewter try to keep the wax relatively small (eg. the size of a lemon). Day two Add casting ‘runners’ and ‘risers’ to your wax sculptures in preparation for casting, then make plaster moulds. These moulds will then be heated to burn out the wax which will leave a negative cavity to be filled with molten pewter. Day three Melt and cast molten pewter into your plaster moulds. Allow to cool and then chisel out the casts and clean them up. Day four Finish your artwork, polishing, patination, welding and cold working of pewter. This will be followed by instruction on how to set up your own pewter casting works. It is essential to wear old clothes (preferably boiler suits) and strong footwear (preferably steel-capped boots). Beginners and those more experienced are welcome! Basic materials are included. The cost of this course includes 1 kilo of pewter, any additional metal used will be charged at £52 per kilo. Course cost: £500 Course dates: Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th, Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th July 2025 Course times: 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm Number of places available: 10 Tutor: Robert Worley (MA, RCA)
