Led by Sanj & Jess, a dynamic, multi-award-winning professional Bhangra duo with over 18 years of experience, this workshop promises energy, fun, and incredible choreography. Known for training first-placing Bhangra teams and hosting sold-out workshops across the UK—whether for corporate teams or the public— Sanj & Jess have shared their expertise with Bhangra enthusiasts at every level. Hosted by Simon Burfoot FMPA, ABIPP, ARPS, who is the Technical Director of Elinchrom UK. Simon is a qualified photographer and lighting tutor who is best known for his lighting courses. If you want to take your photography to the next level and understand how to shape and manipulate light then look no further! This workshop will teach you how to control light using modifiers and reflectors and get as much right in-camera to save you a lot of time in post-production. Simon will go through everything from simple one-light setups and the differences between hard & soft/matt & specular light sources; to the effect these have on the subject in terms of ‘in-camera’ skin smoothing and the control of exposure with your camera’s aperture. This course is aimed at beginners or those using speedlights who want to become more creative in their studio or out on location, you’ll leave the workshop with the confidence to recreate the setups, understand the techniques and be able to put them into practice. You should leave with the confidence to be able to recreate this set up having gained a firm understanding of the techniques. You will need to bring with you the following: - Your camera and lenses - A spare battery - A memory card All Elinchrom flash equipment is provided along with triggers. A pen and paper is also handy for making notes throughout the day. The workshop will be held at the SIM Imaging showroom in Hatfield who specialise in beautifully handmade photo products designed for professional photographers. Lunch and Refreshments are available on the day together with free parking on site. As an exclusive to SIM customers this workshop is offered at only £70 for a day of expert training! Spaces are extremely limited to ensure plenty of time for individual tutoring and guided practicals. Do you live in Meanwood, want to learn embroidery and find out more about our craft courses and workshops? Then come along to this monthly drop in embroidery workshop and learn a new skill. Stitch-Up has teamed up with the Royal Volentry Service to offer a drop in embroidery workshop, bring along an embroidery project or join in with one of our community projects. Hot drinks and snacks will be available and you will get to take your finished project away with you! You can also help us make extras to be shared with the local community. Stitch-Up studio is based at Meanwood Community Centre and we run courses, workshops and weekly community craft groups in the area! You will get to meet our friendly Stitch-Up team and find out what we have planned for our spring workshop programme. You can have your say in helping us shape our 2024 programme of community craft activity as well. No experience is necessary for this workshop, all levels are welcome. We are really looking forward to welcoming you. There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac. The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.
