The SF Bicycle Coalition is hosting the SF Bicycle Coalition Adult Learn to Ride Class in San Francisco on April 6, 2024. This class is designed for adults who have never learned to ride a bicycle. Instructors will provide one-on-one guidance to help participants master the fundamentals of riding, including balancing, starting, stopping, and steering. Once they have developed a sense of balance, instructors will demonstrate how to turn confidently and stop smoothly. Pedals will then be reinstalled, allowing participants to incorporate pedaling and learn how to steer precisely in circles and figure-eights. The final lesson will cover shifting gears, enabling riders to tackle hills and navigate city streets. It is important for participants to have a bicycle for the class. Bikes can be rented in advance, and information on how to rent one will be provided upon registration. If cost is a barrier, there is a limited budget available to cover bike rentals for students.
