Zack Fox is an Atlanta-raised rapper, DJ, actor, comedian, artist, and writer with an ever-expanding following and footprint on the culture. An ascendent musician who has played sold out shows and festivals across North America, Europe, and Australia, Zack released his debut album “shut the fuck up talking to me” independently via Alpha Pup in October 2021 featuring production from The Alchemist, Kenny Beats, and BNYX. His follow up r&b EP “wood tip” was released in December 2022. In 2024 Zack is in full DJ mode. Looking to develop this sideof his business and expand his fanbase. Gin and Gelli plate workshop Thursday 30th January 6.30pm til 8.30pm Tutor: Nick Location: Incubate Printmaking, 10-16 Boyd street, Cobalt Studios, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE2 1AP This workshop is a relaxed introduction to the art of Gelli plate printing. You will receive a glass of gin which is included in the ticket price! There will also be jelly shots available, as well as soft drinks and nibbles. Gelli plates are a great way to print mono prints without the need for a press. A mono print is a ‘one-off’ print which can only be made once, increasing its value. These plates have a springy surface, meaning they transfer images onto paper very effectively. This workshop will focus on the many ways of using Gelli plates, using water based inks, paint and watercolours. We will also create layers, building up images using stencils, found leaves and flowers, and images from glossy magazines. It is based on the traditional principles of stone lithography but instead of using a lithography stone, we use tinfoil as the base for our plate and a fizzy drink to etch the plate. This workshop is ideal for someone already familiar with the principles of printmaking, who is looking to further their knowledge and experiment with a new technique. In this bite-size course, in order to maximise learning, participants should come prepared with an idea of what they would like to draw.
