The All-Terrain Conditioning seminar, organized and licensed by TNT Fitness Results, is designed to cater to a wide range of individuals, from beginners to advanced athletes such as Mountain Bikers, Mountain Climbers, Hikers, Ruck March Participants, Skiers and Snowboarders, Obstacle Course Racers, CrossFit Athletes, and Special Operators. Led by Derek Toshner, a StrongFirst Certified Master Instructor with over 20 years of experience as a strength coach, this seminar aims to equip participants with the necessary exercise skills to complete the Strong Endurance plans developed by Pavel Tsatsouline. Taking place at Ignite Performance and Fitness in San Diego, California, the seminar will span two days, starting from October 26th to October 27th, with check-in beginning at 8:30 am on the first day. Throughout the course, you will learn proper technique and intensity for a variety of movements, including Deadlifts, Hardstyle Kettlebell Swings, Turkish Get-ups, Power Pushups, Pullups, and Step-ups. In addition to the practical training, participants will receive a comprehensive manual outlining six progressions of protocols to enhance their cardiovascular capacity and develop greater power for lasting endurance. The manual will also include a short peaking cycle, utilizing glycolytic conditioning to prepare individuals for maximum performance before an adventure or competition. It is important to note that peaking should be used sparingly and as discussed during the seminar. By attending this seminar, you will gain valuable knowledge to help you build cardiovascular and muscular endurance without compromising strength, increase your cells' aerobic power plants, maximize power, and improve joint stability. Join the exciting Run This Town 5K/10K/13.1 SAN DIEGO event held at Liberty Station in San Diego, California. This event is designed for all ages and paces, welcoming both runners and walkers. Participants can represent their hometown while enjoying a fun-filled race experience with friends or by setting personal goals. The event takes place on October 26, 2024. This small and private group run, capped at 15-20 participants per wave, offers a stress-free environment to support individuals in achieving their running goals. Vessels and Passages: a Poetry SeriesLast(-ish) Wednesday of the month. 7-8pmA monthly poetry series hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington in the Tiffany Gallery. Vessels and Passages features established poets, who will share their work and facilitate open discussions with the public. The series will also support student and local emerging poet programs in the greater DC area to enable their work to be shared as well. Just like in the visual arts, poets need space to share their creativity, and this series will provide that space. She returned to school and obtained a Masters in Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary. Laura currently serves as Associate Pastor at Rock Spring United Church of Christ in Arlington. She published her book of poetry, Breaking into Light, in 2023. She loves peonies, running, and time with her miniature goldendoodle, Finn.
