On May 7, 1925, the Istituto di Storia delle Scienze was inaugurated as a department of the University of Florence. The first of its kind in Italy, the Institute combined the objective of promoting the history of science with a new sensibility toward the collection and valorization of the material heritage of Italian science. Granted official status as an autonomous entity in 1927, opened to the public in 1930 in its current home in Palazzo Castellani, the Institute acquired a new name in 2010: Museo Galileo.
Conceived to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of this Florentine institution, the exhibition presents rare and precious editions of volumes drawn mostly from the Fondo Mediceo-Lorenese, including scientific texts acquired over the centuries by the two Tuscan dynasties. The display offers visitors a unique opportunity to admire masterworks usually conserved out of view in the Museum’s library.
Providing a framework for the display of books, a photographic exhibition documents the most important moments in the life of the Institute over these hundred years, accompanied by films exploring some of the research topics of particular interest to the Institute from its foundation to today. The story that emerges illustrates how Florence—with its traditions, history, and patrimony of texts and scientific instruments—has proven the ideal birthplace for this cultural institution, which embodies a model practically unprecedented in the panorama of Italian museums.

There are three floors in total. When you travel in Italy, you will find that people here mark the 1st floor as the 0th floor. If you think about it carefully, it is reasonable. Most of the things in the museum are on the second and third floors. There are many instruments about biology, nature, astronomy and geography, as well as several famous physical principles. Those who are used to this can really come and see it. I bought a 10 euro ticket, which is really worth it. I walked for more than two hours. There are not too many things in it. There are many small details. If you want to study them one by one, you probably can&#39;t finish them in one day. Another reason may be that I have visited too many exhibitions about painting and sculpture art. Suddenly, such an exhibition appeared. It is really special and novel. For students who have been numb to seeing things, it is quite refreshing, hahahaha. Before coming here yesterday, I wanted to search for tips about the Galileo Museum, but I didn&#39;t find too much. I wrote it for everyone to see when I came today.

As expected of an art history major, Sofy took us on a tour, highlighting key points and explaining them. She was always available to answer any questions we had, allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of the sophistication of some of the works and appreciate their artistic value. I loved it!

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is truly magnificent. Admission is free, allowing you to experience the grandeur of its interior without having to pay. Tickets can be purchased through the side entrance, bypassing the main entrance line, and include access to the bell tower. However, if you&#39;re looking for a panoramic view of Florence from above, you can choose between the dome or Giotto&#39;s bell tower, or both. The dome offers a close-up view of the frescoes and panoramic views of the city. The bell tower also offers a fantastic view, allowing you to capture the dome in full photographic space. Both steps are quite demanding, as they are quite long and challenging.

such a lovely place, the duomo or cathedral is very big that I cannot take a picture of the whole cathedral. Even if I have seen it several times I always love to visit and see it again and again.

Although they are more expensive, these are safe and guaranteed tickets which can be bought on dates when the official tickets are sold out, especially closer to your visit date. We received the online tickets a day before our entry. Entrance was crowded but the staff are helpful to guide you to your designated ticket queue line. Inside the galleria was mildly crowded. The Michelangelo David statue was magnificent and there is ample space for you to admire and take pictures. Overall I would recommend this place.

The Uffizi Gallery is very classic, with a reasonable flow. The works of the masters are worth appreciating slowly. The Pitti Palace is worth seeing, and the interior is not hot. The Medici family is so powerful. The Boboli Gardens are just outside the Pitti Palace. I thought the Pitti Palace Gardens were far away from the Boboli Gardens, so I was still looking for the Boboli Gardens after walking around the Boboli Gardens. My family laughed to death. I accidentally went to the Castle Hill behind and encountered a heavy rain. It was quite pleasant to walk after the rain. I had the energy to continue to watch the sunset at the nearby Michelangelo Hill. We had seen it the day before and didn&#39;t go there
