Painting What We See - Beginning Painting Ages 18 + 6 Weeks - Meeting on Tuesdays, 10 AM to 12 PM Dates: February 18, 2025 through March 25, 2025 In this fun and relaxed class at the Walker County Arts Alliance, students explore the fundamentals of painting to gain knowledge of materials and techniques to set them on a path to creating original artwork. Professional artist, Kate Gurganus, will help students explore basic painting concepts such as composition, value, color, line, shape, and form. We will also practice: color mixing, paint application, and how to paint layer by layer. Students will learn how to paint what they see and discuss selecting good reference photos. We will work in acrylics but these concepts can be applied to any art medium. This course will be aimed at beginners; however, artists of any experience level are welcome to attend.
