Mar 19, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Sidcup
Dancing with the Devil by Libby Massey Dancing With The Devil is a one woman show that tells the tale of Alizon Device, executed for her crimes of witchcraft during the Pendal Witch Hunt of 1612. Was she guilty? Or were the accusations due to cruel misogyny? This show strikes fear, curiosity, rage, and you might leave with more questions than answers. You will see burlesque and cabaret throughout, and you will see herbology taking place on the stage but, most importantly, you will hear the story of a woman that history has tried to erase – this is the story of Alizon Device and her trial for witchcraft. The Festival of Independent Creative Practice brings urgent, engaging and innovative performances from our final year BA (Hons) Theatre and Social Change. This performance showcase of five, brand new works over two days poses critical questions for the world today with humour, with compassion, with action, and with the most innovative of insights. Run time: 45 minutes with no interval Venue: Theatre Studio, Rose Bruford College Age recommendation: 16+ Content and SFX information: depictions of misogyny, torture, abuse and mentions of sexual assault Find out more: https://www.bruford.ac.uk/whats-on/

Idle Idols by Arthur Morris and Wyn Teasdale What happens on a deity’s day off? Rained in, locked down and bored out of their minds. Flick and Cyra have a problem – they need a distraction, and what better way to pass the time than a series of quick-paced comedy sketches and vignettes?
