About Jake Rosen:
Jake Rosen was born to Holocaust survivors in Marçeille, France. His family emigrated from France to to live in St. Louis, MO where he grew up. He and his wife, Jeanne have 2 children who have recently had their own daughters.

Apr 26, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
City of Los Angeles
Sophisticated Simplicity
Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don't find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It's what we call cheeky-chic!
Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests - from sports to yoga - all in a setting just your speed.
-
Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile MyCheekyDate ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, login to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. You'll be able to choose whom you fancy meeting again, to what degree you like them and have until midnight to submit your final selections for matching. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. It's where Cheeky meets convenience! You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime. Paper scorecards are just so 2010!
The night has arrived! Go to the venue at the published start time for the event. There is no official start time to the speed dating portion of the evening - we like to wait for all daters to arrive, to have a moment to settle in with a refreshment and mingle should they wish.
Our personable hosts will assist you with your MyCheekyDate 'Smart-Card’ Scorecard. Flirty and fun, your mobile scorecard is just the beginning. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Your mobile scorecard gives you the ability to see all the participants attending your event, upload your picture, make your selections and be notified of your matches all from your phone.
Offering uncompromising value with unparalleled service. Lovely venues and our lovely Hosts to assist you with anything or anyone.

Featured Artists:
1. Handsome Devil - Music Video
by
Daniel Barrow
(2024)
Daniel Barrow uses Amiga software from the late 1980s (DeluxePaint 4) to create this romantic pink and green story of a "sissy devil" who probes the depths of internet intelligence, composing an “advanced search” on an antiquated search engine. Simultaneously, a naked, green, feminine artist traces the contours of her devilish destiny on her sketch pad, and then within an imaginary dating app. The “advanced search” becomes a kind of contemporary, queer, love poem. Original song by The Ballet, from the album "Daddy Issues", 2024.
2. “The Devil You Say,” a puppet soliloquy of Satan in his own words by
Robin Walsh
.
Puppet Artist Robin Walsh
loves proving that alternate realities exist - and creating them. Her work focuses on bringing puppetry into both expected and unexpected places. Clients include Henson, Disney, the Academy Awards, and Stanford University among others. She’s
performed at the Hollywood and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and in
The Oscars
,
Men in Black, Team America, Captain Underpants,
and
SpongeBob SquarePants.
Other highlights include an
Emmy
nomination, a
Jim Henson Foundation
Workshop Grant, and restoring the real Rudolph and Santa puppets from the Rankin/Bass classic animated holiday special.
3. “The Best of Damnation” - a video art supercut by cinematographer
Jordan Holtane
.
4. An original poem from
Fernando A. Funes
-
Funes is a writer-performer who produces shows in Los Angeles including Duo It Again
at The Lyric Hyperion, hosted by his duo improv team, FernGully. He also produces The Dazed & Confused Poetry Club, an intimate poetry show at The Glendale Room. And he is the first-ever Director of The Lyric Hyperion & Glendale Room Training Center. His short film, “The American Dream” has been featured in over 43 film festivals, including the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival. He writes a poem for every day of the year. He’s very excited about his first poetry collection, Working Class PTSD, or How I Learned to Code Switch + Love Poems.

surgery. On the way, absorbed in his thoughts, he is fatally hit by a car. From that moment

Dr Jet has invented a lens that can expand or contract the human mind. But when the lens breaks, will Dr Jet be stuck thinking she is the center of the universe forever? Dr Jet’s Universe is an all ages show (7+) that explores the realms of science and philosophy through comedy. Created by two comedians – one a musician and one a doctor of integrative medicine - the show takes us on a music-filled journey through space, where we meet puppets and strange characters who might be able to help Dr Jet. The show is one-part Pee-Wee and one part Cosmos, with elements of improvisation and audience interaction.

***DETAILS***
L OCATION: We are meeting at the Silver Lake Grass Patch near the Silver Lake Reservoir. Please see the photo below for the exact location.
CLASS: This is a beginner dance routine designed for all skill levels, 0-100. All ages welcome!
BRING: A water bottle, comfortable shoes and your best Sunday in the Park attire!
OUR ASK: Be the vibe you wish to be. Respect the space and respect each other. Let loose and set your spirit free!
TIMELINE: The instructional will last 2 hours, from 1pm-3pm. At the end of class, we will walk to the flash mob location and get set up. The flash Bob will happen at random following the tutorial, between 3pm - 4pm.
FAQ1: "Can I come watch but not dance?" A: Unfortunately this ruins the surprise of a flash bob. Only come if you plan to be a part of the dance!
FAQ2: "Where will the actual flash mob take place if our friends want to watch?" A: For the same reason above, we don't give out the location except to those participating. This prevents herds of people standing around with their phones out waiting with anticipation.
