The Stulberg has an impressive track record of counting some of the world’s most gifted string artists among its participants and prizewinners. Founded in 1975 to honor Dr. Julius Stulberg, the Stulberg Competition attracts the finest string players in the world. Boasting over 2,500 young string participants in its 50-year history, many of the competition’s previous winners have gone on to illustrious classical music careers. Mr. Richman is a respected composer and has been commissioned to write a concerto in honor of the Stulberg’s 50th. Mr. Richman and Mr. Newman will give audiences a sneak peek of the piece and provide a celebrative performance. The cocktail hour begins at 6:30 in the Atrium, it will feature passed hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer and a specialty cocktail crafted for Stulberg’s 50th Anniversary Gala. Join Apra Michigan for an in-person StrengthsFinder Workshop led by Stephanie Willis, Senior Manager of Prospect Development with Creative Fundraising Advisors. Stephanie is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Educator and will be leading a course to teach new strategies to help you apply your talents to increase your effectiveness in your work and personal lives.
Completing an assessment is optional but
highly recommended
. The assessment is included with registration and a link will be sent to you to prior to the event to complete your assessment. If you have already completed an assessment, feel free to bring a copy of your strengths to this session rather than completing a new assessment. Stephanie will build a program that will be beneficial to all levels of participation, whether you have completed an assessment or not.
The program includes lunch and valuable networking with prospect development colleagues. The entire workshop will be held on Western Michigan University's campus with the exact room number to be released closer to the session.

Stephanie is the Senior Manager of Prospect Development at Creative Fundraising Advisors and is passionate about helping nonprofits understand the “science” of fundraising, and how to effectively use data and research to enhance the “art” of fundraising. Stephanie has over a decade of experience in prospect research, prospect management, and data analytics at both higher education and nonprofit organizations.
Stephanie has been a loyal Apra member and volunteer since 2013. For six years, she served on the Apra Indiana Board in roles including webmaster, programming chair, treasurer, and vice president. In 2019, Stephanie co-founded the Apra Great Lakes chapter to launch a new regional experience for local state chapters. Stephanie has been a regular attendee and speaker at the annual Apra PD conference and served on the Curriculum Planning Committee for three years. In 2023, she was honored to serve as the chair of the Apra PD conference in Indianapolis and currently serves on the Apra International Board and is a trustee of the Apra Foundation. Stephanie is extremely passionate about supporting Apra because the knowledge and networking opportunities she has gained over the past 10+ years are priceless.
Stephanie has an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in library science. She is certified in the Tessitura and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge databases. Since 2010, Stephanie has been a Gallup-certified Strengths coach and has helped hundreds of people understand, apply, and integrate CliftonStrengths results into their lives and work.
