Aboutx-dancex-dance is a dynamic practice that blends dance, self-expression and meditation in the same breath. Unlike traditional dance forms, there are no specific steps to follow here. Instead, you’ll be guided by an eclectic mix of music and inspirational prompts, inviting you to tune into your body, connect with yourself and to follow intuitive movement moment by moment. There are no “right” or “wrong” ways to move here – just an open invitation to discover and express yourself. Using the 5Rhythms framework, we will explore 5 fundamental life energies (rhythms) through the dance. The music is played like a “wave” where it goes up and comes back down again. There are 3 essential ingredients to each event: Freedom to be: You’re invited to let go of the thinking mind, explore physical and emotional landscapes without any pressure of performance or “getting it right”Invitations, not instructions: You’ll receive impulses and ideas to explore different aspects of movement and self-expression. Part of the ongoing campaign for visibility, inclusion, the DEcriminalization of bodies and financial stability for The Black Sex Worker Collective - Berlin, this year’s theme is loosely inspired by Octavia Butler's speculative fiction novel Parable of the Sower. Black H'or Futurism is a groundbreaking performance that delves into the sexual creative energies of Black Sex Workers in the fight for environmental justice, land rights, and labor rights with the backdrop of technology. In fragments, this production encourages the reimagining and reclamation of the displaced bodies and minds of those forced to the margins by social inequalities. In over 24 hours of interdisciplinary and intersectional artistry, attendees enter the irresistible imagination of the central operating mind of a sleeping Black Sex Worker, portrayed by artist MF Akynos. Where in her dreamscape, a world unfolds fragmented dreams and false awakenings that explore the morbid realities, joy, and resilience within queer and migrant communities. About The EventPaul Kormašov is an Estonian painter who lives and works in Berlin. The current exhibition is his 11th solo project, presenting only his newest works, completed in the past five months. Mainly known in his native country for large-scale, highly detailed abstract works with occasional figurative features, his current show is taking a different direction, presenting mostly smaller works with clearer motifs. Staying loyal to his characteristically colourful approach, the artist has portrayed intimate day-to-day moments, the silent pains of inner growth, closeness, tears an d moments of sheer bliss. It’s a colourful, journal-like insight into a period of change, with each entry offering an independent world of its own. About The HostPaul Kormašov (b. 1989) is a freelance painter. He graduated from Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Tartu, Estonia) in 2013 and relocated to Berlin in 2015. His main style of work is colourful abstractionism with occasional figurative features – such as industrial landscapes and other elements of nature and life in the city. Kormašov has previously held ten private exhibitions, most recent of them being “Through the Dark” in April 2024 at law firm Sorainen in Tallinn, Estonia.
