Badgers Basketball Drills & Games is a semi-competitive session designed for intermediate basketball players aged 15 and above. Hosted by Christie Lothamer, a former National League Coach, this session focuses on enhancing fitness and skill development in a fun environment. Participants can enjoy stretching, drills, competitive games, and half and full court matches. The session, held at Whitelands Academy in Bicester, emphasizes the love of the game rather than keeping score. With a suggested donation of £6.50 (£5 for under 25s), this event is open to both men and women. As part of Journey Communities Churches' community development and mission work, participants are encouraged to show kindness and consideration towards fellow players. This Halloween special life drawing session involves drawing a mystical model (clothed) from life - all levels welcome, suitable for adults and mature young people. We will explore some short expressive poses, then move on to longer focused poses. This class is longer than our usual classes, and there will be surprise prizes available for all guests! Fitting with the theme, the venue will be decorated for the spooky season and autumnal drinks and snacks will be on offer. This class should be a lot of fun! Family friendly event for children aged 4-11 years old and their carers is led by artists Jyls Friggens & John Quinn. The session opens with a short re-telling of a favourite fairytale using shadow puppets on a shadow screen. Participants are invited to design & make their own fairytale characters using card & create their story. You will have the opportunity to rehearsal your story on a shadow screen before sharing your performance with the group. All materials provided and puppets can be taken home at the end of the session. The workshop is inspired by The Royal Opera's Family Folk Opera Wolf, Witch, Giant, Fairy which will be screened at Maltings Berwick and other venues around Northumberland during October Half term. This is a 7 week course beginner blues dancing course. Blues dancing comes from the same tradition as blues music. Book here to try the first class for free, before deciding if you want to commit to the whole course. No previous dance experience needed. No partner needed. I'll keep the class small, so I can give lots of individual attention to students. The venue is a short walk from central Hexham, with space for parking (full details given when you book).
