He’s hosted the 2013 Scotia bank Chin picnic. He has also opened for Derek Edwards, Ed the sock, Kenny vs. Spenny, Ryan Long, Jeff Leeson and the legendary Kenny Robinson. Ryan 's a regular performer at the famous Comedy Bar In Toronto for Smokes and Jokes Comedy! He has Performed at the Danforth Comedy Festival in Toronto. Ryan has toured all over Canada, some states in America and has done shows in England and Australia.. Ryan's not only a great comic but an amazing promotor and producers one of the biggest festival in Toronto, called the Cannabis Comedy Festival! He also producers Laughing Loud and recently The Whitby Comedy Festival. Ryan is always a treat to watch spreading a unique and hilarious stories of his life! Feature Act Nick Reynoldson Nick Hailing from Scarborough, Ontario, Nick Reynoldson is an award winning comedian. Sharp, smart and energetic, this young comic is one of the most sought after headliners in the country. COCA Comedian of the year and a Runner Up at SiriusXM’s Top Comic Competition, Nick has appeared in major festivals including New York Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, JFL42, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and The Toronto Fringe. He’s been a featured performer and actor on CTV, MUCH, CBC and multiple national commercials Feature Act Tyler Morrison Tyler Morrison is one of fastest rising comedians in North America with his hilarious brand of working class comedy. After winning the Dark Comedy Festival in Toronto, Morrison has headlined comedy clubs across Canada appearing as part of Andrew Schulz’s Matador Tour, Doug Stanhope’s Second Wind Tour, YHAJ Roast Battle at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, and Toronto’s annual Massey Hall New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. A festival favorite, he has been featured at The Boston Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, Atlanta Laughing Skull Fest, Just For Laughs 42 Festival, CBC’S Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Caroline’s on Broadway for the Roast of WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik. He was named one of the Top 10 Comedians by Sirius XM Canada where he had his own daily roast segment. Yes, her voice is a little unusual and squeaky at times, but you always know it’s Angela’s distinctive trademark. Her journey began when she pursued improv studies at the renowned The Second City in Toronto during the 1990s. Angela has since evolved into a seasoned stand-up performer, with a presence that has taken her on tours across North America. Her credits extend to numerous television commercials and both film and TV projects. These experiences have rendered Angela easily recognizable and have contributed substantially to her ongoing success. Angela Maiorano-Thurston is a comedian you don’t want to miss. She has performed at the Edmonton Comedy Festival and Danforth Comedy Festival. Feature Act Rob Ross Rob Ross is a sought-after Canadian headlining stand-up comic and accomplished award winning television writer based in Toronto. Performing credits include: A one hour Comedy Now special on The Comedy Network and CTV, CBC’s Halifax Comedy Festival, CBC’s Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs, CTV’s Open Mike and CBC’s 9 O’Clock Show. He was just 24 years old when he did his first nationally televised special COMICS! on CBC. Ross was head writer and creative producer for the popular MTV Canada show MTV Live and was a producer for CBC’s award winning hit series Canada’s Smartest Person. Other credits include CBC’s Still Standing, Rick Mercer Report, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Over The Rainbow, Royal Canadian Air Farce, Street Cents, The NHL Awards, Gemini Awards and The Junos on CTV. Looking to unleash your creative side and make some stunning jewellery pieces that you can wear with pride? Then you won't want to miss our exciting six-week silversmithing class! Our talented and experienced instructors will guide you through the process of making beautiful and unique silver jewellery pieces that will leave you feeling accomplished and proud. Once a week over six weeks, you'll learn all the basics of silversmithing, starting with piercing metal with a jewellery saw, and then moving on to texturing with hammers and the rolling mill, stamping, drilling, reticulation, soldering, and much more. You'll get hands-on experience with all the techniques you need to make a sterling silver pendant, bangle, earrings, trio of rings, and even a simple round bezel setting for one of your rings. 03/06/2025 During week 1 we will learn how to pierce metal with a jewellery saw, we will show you texturing with hammers and the rolling mill, as well as stamping while we make the start of our pendant and earrings. 10/06/2025 During week 2 we will learn how to clean metal, set up for soldering and use a handheld blow torch to complete our earrings, fillowing from this we will learn how to drill and form our pendants. 17/06/2025 During week 3 we learn how to measure and cut silver wires to form rings and bangles. 24/06/2025 During week 4 we will continue to practice soldering and join our rings and bangles 01/06/2025 During week 5 we will make a bezel setting for one of our rings. 08/06/2025 In the final week - week 6 we will bring all of our jewellery together and we will learn how to finish using various finishes such as satin and patina as well as enamelling in the kiln. Materials and refreshments provided! Hosted in our new unit at The BIS on Whitby Street, Hartlepool. Our studio is a 2-minute walk from the train station, if you are driving, there is parking right next to the studio which is free after 6 pm. This workshop has limited spaces meaning each person will have 1:1 time with the tutor and particular attention can be taken when using the blowtorch- this is great for those of you who might find heat work a little scary! A bit about us: Carley trained in Applied Art at CCAD in Hartlepool - Now the Northern School of Art. She specialised in Ceramics, Silversmithing and Textiles with a main focus in Ceramic art. After graduating in 2013 she went on to study a PGCE (14+) at the University of Bolton while living and working in Manchester. She gained most of her teaching experience working in secondary education and also through teaching classes in the field of ceramics at Muddy Fingers Pottery in Jarrow. In 2018 she began building her brand The Little Silver Kiln where her main intention was to make, sell and teach jewellery. The Little Silver Kiln opened its new studio in 2021 at The BIS on Whitby Street. We've got some super important class info for you! If you're joining us on an evening, please note that there won't be anyone in reception. Instead, you will be greeted at the front door starting 10 minutes before the class start, if for any reason you're running late, please send me an email at thelittlesilverkiln@mail.com. When it comes to getting here, please use the front entrance of the building. For parking, you'll find spaces available at the Dover Street car park next to the building. Just make sure to check the signage for details on parking fees. Please know, there are permit zones on Whitby Street between 8am to 6pm, so be sure to read the street signs before you park. Now, onto the fun stuff! Safety is super important to us, so please make sure to wear suitable clothing for the class. This means clothing that covers your legs and shoes that cover your feet (no sandals allowed!). And if you have long hair, don't forget to bring a hair tie. Scarves, ties, and loose clothing can be a fire hazard when working with the blow torch, so we want to make sure you're all set. Finally, please bring glasses if you need them for sight. Please be aware that our studio is currently only accessible via stairs, there is a bathroom right next to the studio so you will only need to use the stairs at the beginning and the end of the class. We'll be providing snacks, hot and cold drinks during the class, and we are a vegan-friendly studio. If you have any dietary requirements, just let us know beforehand and we'll do our best to accommodate you. And in case you're wondering, our studio is fully vegan-friendly, meaning we don't use any leather or rawhide tools.
