Join the Scenic Symonds Yat Horseshoe Swim Adventure on July 6, 2024, at The Old Court Hotel in Ross-on-Wye. This Small Group Event offers a thrilling experience for seasoned open water swimmers. Led by Angela Jones, a highly experienced and qualified cold water swimmer, this adventure promises breathtaking scenery and encounters with the beautiful wildlife of the Wye River. The day begins with a 1km river walk followed by a short 25m swim across the river. A 5km forest walk will take you up to Yat Rock, where you can enjoy stunning rock formations and the nesting site of peregrine falcons. Descending down to the Wye River, you will embark on a 6km technical and interesting swim back to the starting point. To participate in this event, it is essential to bring wetsuits, tow floats, and water shoes. If you don't have the necessary equipment, you can conveniently hire or purchase them from Angela with a pre-order 48 hours before the event. It is important to note that a wetsuit is highly recommended due to the technical nature of the swim with obstacles in the water. This non-competitive event is designed for those who truly appreciate the beauty of the Wye River and its wildlife. To ensure your safety and enjoyment, please confirm during registration that you can swim the required distance of 5 kilometers in open water and are comfortable spending at least an hour and a half in cold water.
