Join Rainy Day Books and the Johnson County Library for an afternoon tea at the Central Resource Library with author and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser for her newest book, Flower Girls! This event includes a presentation from Robin, a craft activity for children, and complimentary cookies, tea, and lemonade. Attendees will have the opportunity to get their book signed and personalized. The first 50 books purchased will receive a free Flower Girls bookmark, embedded with flower seeds! Attendees have a chance to win a special edition signed illustration by Robin! The Book Flower Girls Everything blooms in its own time. Lily’s garden is perfect and precise, while her sister Poppy’s garden is eccentric and wild. Now that their youngest sister, Daisy, is old enough to have a garden of her own, the question is what will this flower girl choose to plant, and will her sisters stand back and let her bloom, or will they get in the way in the name of being helpful? From the talented sister duo behind Gloria's Promise and You Can't Take a Balloon into the Metropolitan Museum, writer Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman and bestselling Fancy Nancy illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser bring us a tale of the bonds of sisterhood and the flourishing roots of individuality. The Authors Robin Preiss Glasser has illustrated many acclaimed picture books, including the bestselling Fancy Nancy series, Lambslide, Escape Goat, and Grand Jeté and Me: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids. She won the Children’s Choice Award for Best Illustrator of the Year for Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet. Robin actually wore tiaras and tutus when she danced with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Now she happily spends her days in jeans, drawing. Robin and her family live in Southern California.
