LOSTRONAUT Delivering hype-inducing main-stage selections that blend the sonic profiles of genres like dubstep and trap, Edmonton’s LØSTRONAUT manifests spacey wubz driven by a love for the underground culture he emerged from. Western Canada’s bass music festivals were the catalyst that inspired LØSTRONAUT to learn DJing in 2018. The following year, a mix submission landed him a spot at The Forest Awakening festival in Sparwood, B.C., igniting an eagerness to continue generating momentum. He began taking any gig he could find, sometimes playing every week at various after-hours events, pop-ups, and club nights around Edmonton. He soon turned his attention to crafting original tracks, using his history of playing in punk bands and his degree in music theory and composition to launch into the craft of digital sound design. He rented-to-own the powerful sound wave editing software Serum and began immersing himself in online tutorials, slowly perfecting the heavily textured bass waves that now characterize his hybridized style. LØSTRONAUT self-released his first single “AirCutter” in 2021, and has since followed it up with releases on No Hype Music, The Electric Movement, The Goblins Lair, Off Grid Records, and DoYu Digital, where his release “The Sound” was premiered by the Florida-based media outlet Headbang Society. Coming full circle, this expanding repertoire has brought him to some of the stages that once inspired him like Wubs In The Woods, Inter.Sect, and Friendzy Fest. Rather than sticking to one particular tempo or genre, LØSTRONAUT has carefully built his catalogue of original productions with the aim of giving his DJ sets stylistic range. With a perpetually stocked pipeline of forthcoming tracks and his passion for live DJing ascending to new heights, LØSTRONAUT approaches each set as a journey through interstellar tranquility and astral chaos SUPPORTING ARTISTS: AABB AABB, the electrifying Bass DJ hailing from Calgary, AB , is a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. Refresh your wardrobe with a sustainable twist at this pop up hosted by clothing swap shop Verte! Date: Wednesday 21st May Time: 6:30PM - 8:30PM Location: Sky Lounge, Deanston Building, 10 Royal Wharf Walk, E16 Guests are invited to bring up to five pieces of clothing, which depending on the brand and quality, can be traded for Verte ‘’tokens’’. These tokens can then be redeemed on matching-value items Verte will be bringing on the evening. Attendees are not required to bring personal clothing, as items and Verte tokens will be available to purchase at the night, but we encourage participation in the sustainable fashion swap. Tickets cost £10 per person and include entry, a welcome cocktail on arrival and x1 token to exchange on the clothes swap. Event proceeds will be donated to local charity Richard House Children's Hospice. How does it work? Step 1 – Bring along up to 5 items of good quality adult clothing. If you are not able to bring anything on the night, don't worry, as select items will be available to purchase on the night. Step 2 – Claim your tokens. Your items will be checked and tokens allocated based on brand, condition and quality. We track your tokens using Verte’s online app - so sign up so that any unused tokens can be carried over for one of Verte’s swaps in the future. As part of your ticket, one free token will be given to every guest on arrival! Step 3 – Let’s go shopping Once we open the rails, go shopping! We rotate stock throughout the swap to keep the rails fresh for the entire event. ■ 1 tokens: lower-end brands or basic items, e.g. F&F, Primark, TU ■ 2 tokens: mid-range items e.g. John Lewis, Next, Zara, H&M ■ 3 tokens: high-end high street brands or heavier, structured items e.g. Cos, Whistles, Arket ■ 4-5 tokens: top end brands, best quality, e.g. Maje, DVF, Ba&sh ■ Gold tokens: designer brands, RRP over £250, premium quality FAQs What items are accepted? ○ Womenswear & Menswear with a focus on premium high street clothing. ○ We want anything you are bored of wearing, have grown out of (physically or mentally) or just no longer like. ○ Focus on quality, not quantity. Nothing can have rips or stains or be missing buttons/belts etc. ○ We don't accept; underwear, swimwear, skinny jeans or activewear (unless the tags are still on), shoes, jewellery or accessories. ○ Everything you want to swap needs to still be in great condition so nothing which is overly worn - just make sure things are pieces you would be excited to walk away with! If you want tips on where or what you can do with older items, please just ask us! ○ Please make sure items have been washed. What happens to the clothes which aren't swapped? ○ Some are kept to power the business, some are donated to your organisations’ charity partner and some are given to fashion students for use in projects that need material. What if I don't find anything that I like at the swap? ○ We hope this isn't the case as we will aim to have clothes for all tastes and sizes, but Verte holds swaps regularly across London so if you sign up to theironline app, you’ll be able to retain your leftover tokens to use at one of our next swaps!
