Fine Art
Fogle Art invites you to a unique opportunity to meet renowned artist, sculptor, and author Marsha Glazière at a special book signing event. Marsha will be showcasing her memoir, My Father, Picasso, And Me, which offers an intimate look at her artistic journey, shaped by her brilliant yet complex father. This rare tribute takes readers through her life’s challenges, triumphs, and the process of discovering her own distinct voice as an artist. A celebrated painter with over 30 years of experience, Glazière offers readers a compelling narrative of artistic evolution, resilience, and personal growth. In her memoir, Glazière reflects on her upbringing under the influence of a domineering father—a man who believed Pablo Picasso was a fraud—whose passion for art set her on a life path filled with unexpected twists and profound discoveries. Through personal stories and artistic insights, Glazière shares the journey from her childhood struggles to her eventual breakthrough as an artist, exploring themes of self-discovery, perseverance, and the power of art to heal and transform. Alongside her book signing, Fogle Art will have a selection of Marsha's original paintings of Jacksonville for sale. These works offer a stunning glimpse into her artistic vision and her connection to the city, capturing its beauty, energy, and spirit. With over 150 exhibitions worldwide and a lifetime of dedication to teaching and mentoring, Marsha’s work has touched countless lives, particularly through her commitment to working with disadvantaged youth. Her memoir is not only a reflection on art, but also a testament to the power of perseverance and personal growth. Don’t miss this chance to meet the artist behind the work, get your book signed, and hear firsthand about the experiences that shaped her extraordinary career. This event is being hosted by Fogle Art Consulting & Office Images; Fogle Art Consulting, established in 1994 in Jacksonville, is a leading art consulting firm specializing in curating, procuring, and installing artwork for healthcare, corporate, and design sectors. The Diggers | Fort Mason, Gateway Pavilion

Feb 1, 2025 (UTC-8)ENDED
Boulevard

The San Francisco Diggers were an underground movement that came out of street theater. Named after the 17th-century Diggers in England, the San Francisco Diggers emerged in 1966 in response to police brutality and the Vietnam War. They were also critical of consumer culture and created a culture of free: free food, free crash pads, free medical care, a free bank, and free stores. Most of their actions and publications were anonymous and they viewed themselves as both the message as well as the medium. They initiated spontaneous events, challenged authority, took drugs, and formed tribes of like-minded people. They also developed their own form of print culture. The exhibition Our commons are free presents this print culture and contextualizes it through news footage, photographs, films, and a multitude of Digger street sheets. Ben Kinmont is an artist, publisher, and antiquarian bookseller living in Sebastopol, California. His work is concerned with the value structures surrounding an art practice and what happens when that practice is displaced into a non-art space. Since 1988 his work has been project-based with an interest in archiving and blurring the boundaries between artistic production, publishing, and curatorial practices. He is also the founder of the Antinomian Press, a publishing enterprise which supports project art and ephemera (the archive of which is in the collection of drawings and prints at MOMA). The project Our commons are free has already occured in Italy, France, and England, and will be comingto the Fort Mason Center in June of 2025.
