The Aikido Association of America is delighted to present the Kangeiko - Winter Training Aikido Seminar in Chicago. This seminar will feature esteemed guest instructors, including James Nakayama Sensei (nanadan) from Chushinkan Dojo and Tatsuo Toyoda Sensei, the President and Chief Instructor of the Aikido Association of America. James Nakayama, a 7th Dan Aikido black belt, is the chief instructor at Chushinkan Dojo. With over four decades of experience, he began his training at Orange County Aiki Kai and has since become a renowned figure in the Aikido community.
Tatsuo Toyoda Sensei, the son of Aikido Association of America founder Fumio Toyoda Shihan, is an expert in the martial art. As the dojo cho of Tenshinkan Dojo in Chicago, he has taught extensively in the United States and around the world. Both James Nakayama Sensei and Tatsuo Toyoda Sensei will impart their wisdom and expertise during this remarkable event.
The Kangeiko - Winter Training Aikido Seminar will take place at the Japanese Culture Center in Chicago from February 23 to February 25, 2024. The schedule includes multiple training sessions, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the art of Aikido. On Friday, there will be a training session from 6 PM to 8 PM, followed by sessions on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM and 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The seminar will conclude with a training session on Sunday from 11 AM to 1 PM.

The highly anticipated Run Against Breast Cancer CHICAGO is expected to sell out quickly, with waves closing as soon as they fill up. However, if waves are sold out, participants can still get involved by signing up for the virtual run option. The event offers a range of distances to choose from, including a 5K, 10K, or 21K Half Marathon. What's more, 10% of the run proceeds and 100% of the fundraising efforts will be donated to the American Cancer Society, a renowned organization dedicated to saving lives and leading the fight against cancer.
Fundraising is optional, but participants have the opportunity to create their own profile and contribute to this meaningful cause. The event promises a small, private group run where runners can join forces with our run pacers and fellow participants, taking in a beautiful route along the way. With safety and encouragement in mind, each wave is limited to just 15 participants. Running or walking is allowed, and participants of all ages are welcome, with those under 18 requiring a guardian.
By signing up for Run Against Breast Cancer CHICAGO, participants not only get to enjoy a rewarding run but also receive a swag bag filled with exciting items. This includes a premium running shirt, as well as the choice of either a medal or a custom mug. Additionally, participants gain access to a virtual community of runners from around the world, where they can receive tips, inspiration, giveaways, and ongoing challenges to keep them motivated on their fitness journey.
