Under the expert guidance of Tim, participants will learn the intricate process of working with glass to create stunning pieces that capture and refract light in mesmerizing ways. Whether you've always admired the beauty of stained-glass windows or are eager to explore a new artistic medium, this workshop promises an unforgettable experience. During this introductory class, you will be guided through the basic steps of making a small stained glass window hanging using the lead came method. You will learn essential skills such as glass selection, scoring and breaking glass, grinding, lead cutting, soldering, attaching support rings, cementing (time permitting), and finishing. No prior experience is required. At the end of the workshop, you will take home a finished stained glass piece made by you, showcasing vibrant glass colors. This unique window hanging design will be the start of your own stained-glass journey. All necessary supplies, materials, and equipment will be provided by Tim. Lisa, Sarah, and Emma will guide participants through a series of workshops held across Immingham, Grimsby, and Cleethorpes, where they will have the chance to write lyrics based on their own words and stories. In addition to creating a brand new piece of music, participants will also learn about the importance and techniques of Makaton signing. These sessions are free of charge and open to everyone, with a special emphasis on inclusion and families. The Grimsby session will take place at Our Big Picture, conveniently located opposite the Grimsby Minster.
