The first stop of the "Vision Fusion-International Tour of Watercolor Works of Chinese Higher Art Colleges" will be grandly opened in Brussels, Belgium on May 15, 2025. This tour is the first time that Chinese watercolors have been displayed on the world stage in a concentrated manner.
As a 2025 National Art Fund Communication, Exchange and Promotion Project planned and implemented by Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, "Vision Fusion-International Tour of Watercolor Works from Chinese Higher Art Colleges" aims to present the innovation and development of Chinese watercolor in the context of the new era, and strive to build a watercolor tour that has both Chinese aesthetic characteristics and international artistic vision. The exhibition will display representative watercolor works from more than 30 higher art colleges in China, showing the current practical results of Chinese watercolor painting and watercolor professional education and teaching.
The exhibition takes the literary and artistic concept of "vision fusion" as the exhibition concept, emphasizes the "dialogue" function of the works and the audience in overseas cultural promotion activities, and uses Chinese watercolor as a dialogue medium to promote Chinese culture and national spirit to open up the artistic horizon to overseas audiences, integrate Chinese watercolor art with the world's diverse cultures, and effectively promote the interaction and promotion of watercolor majors in Chinese higher art colleges at the international level, thereby enhancing the deep-level humanistic communication and mutual learning between civilizations.
This exhibition consists of three theme units: "Transformation and Integration", "Challenge and Breakthrough" and "Reshaping and Consciousness". In the orderly inheritance of the three generations of artists, the exhibition presents the new look of the century-long development of Chinese watercolor painting. The exhibition focuses on the combination of diversity and depth, accurately gathers the fine works of representative artists in the field of domestic watercolor, gives full play to the integration advantages of art creation and cultural communication in art colleges, continues to absorb and refine the excellent crystallization of art and culture in other countries in the process of international exchanges, and constantly inspires the new form of Chinese watercolor, enriching its core aesthetics and cutting-edge nature of the times.
Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts is a famous institution of higher learning with great influence in the field of art education. It is also the earliest teaching unit in my country to use watercolor art as professional education and research. It occupies the academic leading position of domestic watercolor painting majors. The academy adheres to the spirit of Luyi, is committed to inheriting and developing the excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting the development of Chinese art, and actively integrating with the international community to carry out extensive academic exchanges and cooperation. Brussels, Belgium is the first stop of this tour, and it will also be exhibited in Gwangju, South Korea and Stockholm, Sweden.
