Right across the street are the Clan Jetties, and there are countless historical buildings nearby, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. What truly stands out is the hotel staff; they are exceptionally polite and attentive. The hotel itself is an old heritage building, so the facilities are a little dated, but they are very well-maintained. "Actually quite disappointed for them to arrange big group of ppl check in at the same time and room is not ready at 4pm which is unacceptable. Majority of room check out at 12pm and you only allow for check in at 3pm. So is fine, but you should get ready all the rooms already. You already aware that, 27/6 check in should be very crowded due to concert event. Seems like your team is not ready. Besides, room clean, bed and pillow is nice."

"The hotel's location is great. During my three-day stay, I could easily walk to Mural Street every day, and enjoy durian and highly-rated restaurants at my leisure. There's also a shopping mall nearby with a supermarket, Watsons, and an ATM for currency exchange. The weekend art market is also within easy walking distance.
The hotel breakfast was good. Each day, there was a local specialty dish prepared outside the lobby that you could go and pick up yourself, along with freshly squeezed juice. There's also a piano in the lobby on the first floor, with performances in the evenings."

"Had a wonderful stay here! The environment was cozy and welcoming, and the room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
One thing we really appreciated was the hot water supply, not only in the shower but even from the bathroom sink tap, which was a nice touch. The air conditioning was also very cold and comfortable, making our stay even more pleasant.
The location is very convenient, with several attractions within walking distance, making it easy to explore the area without needing to drive.
For guests who drive, free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We were fortunate to visit during a less busy period, so we were able to secure a parking space every time.

"This hotel was by far the best and most satisfying of my entire trip to Malaysia! The environment is fantastic, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The room was large, clean, and came with a balcony overlooking the sea. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I even took a picture of the mattress brand so I can buy one for myself! Breakfast was also good; I ended up having both breakfast and lunch there for the first two days, haha. The restaurant also offers sea views. While the variety isn't massive, there's definitely enough to eat. If you're visiting Penang to see Penang Hill and Batu Ferringhi Beach, this is a great place to stay. It's a bit less convenient for George Town, but for my three days in Penang, this location offered the best experience. George Town, on the other hand, didn't leave a great impression on me; it was very congested and hot, lacking any sense of a relaxed pace. This hotel, though, truly felt like a vacation! Excellent value for money."

"The hotel's location is really convenient. Hongyuan offers plenty of dining options and live performances, which are quite good. Even though it's a food street, the hygiene is perfectly fine.
A few days ago, I even saw a spectacular fireworks show right from my room.
It's also very close to Zhangyuan, and nearby Hongmao Road used to be the first affluent street.
The only downside was one night around 11:00 PM, I could hear someone singing, but the soundproofing was decent enough that it wasn't a major issue."

RRayTFirst of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

-i dont know but i feel like not helpful enough. they could’ve done better for the so called “5 stars” hotel wannabe.
Cleanliness.
-well it was clean BUT! right when we entered the room we saw the notice of the charlie ants. we were so scared to touch the floor with bare foot as i lost count on how much we had seen and managed to kill the insects on our own!
Buffet.
-was ok, not the best. many verities to choose from. well at least they tried.
Facilities.
-they won this time. my only complaint was the insects on the floor and walls of the toilet.

ZZuileThe hotel staff were incredibly dedicated and responsive to all our requests. The room was clean and tidy. The beach behind the hotel is a bit small, but it's shared with the neighboring hotels, so you can walk along it, and the scenery is still beautiful. However, the hotel's internal landscaping is fantastic. It's definitely worth another visit.

SSinitaChopraMy son and nephew stayed in the Premier Twin Room, and their feedback honestly left me flabbergasted. For boys whose vocabulary on things like hotels and hospitality is usually quite limited, they simply could not stop yapping about how much they loved the room!
According to them, the room was huge, comfortable, and incredibly cosy. Their absolute favourite part? The complimentary mini bar items — that definitely earned extra points! They also could not stop talking about how amazing the shower was.
A special mention must also go to the housekeeping team. Hats off to the housekeeping lad who somehow managed to clean and organise the room so well despite the unbelievable amount of clutter the boys created within such a short time frame. Truly impressive and very much appreciated.
The boys also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast spread and kept mentioning the warmth and hospitality showered upon them throughout their stay.
Thank you once again to the entire team at Sunway Hotel Penang for making their stay such a memorable one. It is experiences like these that keep us coming back.

GGazwanHere's I had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights and honestly have nothing negative to say about my experience. The hotel's location is excellent and one of its biggest advantages. It is conveniently situated close to many of Georgetown's most popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, street art spots, and local landmarks, making it very easy to explore the area on foot without needing transportation.
The check-in and check-out process was quick, smooth, and hassle-free. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and always happy to assist with any questions or requests. Their friendly attitude made me feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay.
The room was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable visit. Although the room was slightly compact, it was thoughtfully designed and made good use of the available space. All the facilities and amenities worked perfectly, including the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, lighting, and bathroom facilities, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which allowed me to relax after a full day of exploring Georgetown. The combination of a great location, clean rooms, efficient service, and friendly staff made this hotel a fantastic choice for both short and longer stays.
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Penang. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay in the heart of Georgetown!

The resort is beautifully maintained, with direct beach access, spacious and comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities for both adults and children. 了了了-ZHUOOverall, it's decent for the price. However, there's a noticeable difference between the OZO in Phuket and this OZO in Penang. The location is in George Town, but on the northern side near the sea, meaning it's over 1km away from most major attractions, restaurants, and durian shops.
The staff weren't as friendly as in Phuket; checking in felt like doing business at a government office. We booked three deluxe twin rooms, but they were assigned to two different floors.
The hotel has nowhere to dry clothes, and even the hangers are semi-fixed in the wardrobe.
At night, you can hear music playing, which affected our sleep (especially the bass).
Since we had a child, we requested an extra bed, but the extra bed didn't come with a proper duvet, only a very thin blanket.
