"The room isn't huge, but it was perfect for two people. When I checked in, I asked for a sea-view room, and the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel having a gym and a swimming pool is a huge plus! It's super convenient with a mall next door, and it was so easy to visit all the nearby attractions and try out local food spots – everything was about a 20-minute walk away. Getting to the airport takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. I highly recommend this place! There are water dispensers on every floor, which is great for refilling bottles. The bed isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough to sleep on. If I come back to Penang, I'd definitely choose to stay here again."

"The hotel's location is excellent. It's within walking distance to the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, City Hall, and the waterfront. You can also walk to the tourist area's mural streets and the Peranakan Museum.
The cleanliness and service are both above average. Although the breakfast offers a good variety, the taste is just okay, but it was still the most palatable among the three hotels I stayed at this trip. They offer congee and pickled vegetables.
The hotel provides large umbrellas for guests to borrow. However, it's really not necessary as rain in Penang usually comes in short bursts, so there's no need for such a big umbrella.
The room is old, and the bathroom leaks, as shown in the picture.
I wouldn't recommend booking breakfast at any hotel in Malaysia. Breakfast at local restaurants is much cheaper and tastier. The only thing you'll need to worry about in Penang is your appetite being too small!"

"The room was very spacious and appeared to be recently renovated. The location is convenient, and there is plenty of parking available.
However, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness. I had specifically requested a clean room as I am sensitive to dust and easily develop allergies. Unfortunately, there were hairs underneath the pillow, stains on the towels, and even ants inside one of the cups provided. The floor was also noticeably dusty with hairs in several areas.
That said, the staff were friendly and responsive. When I requested a change of bedsheets and pillowcases, they attended to it very quickly and were helpful throughout. I hope the hotel can improve its housekeeping standards, as the room itself has great potential."

"We stayed for one night in the Superior Hill King Room and had a pleasant experience overall.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located near the beach. From check-in to check-out, everything was quick and smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
One thing that could be improved is the soundproofing. Our room was facing the main road, so we could hear traffic noise at night, which might be an issue for light sleepers.
The bathroom was clean, but the standing shower area was quite small and didn't have a divider, so it felt a little cold while showering. The room also comes with an old-style bathtub.
Parking is limited, so you may need to park at the building next door. However, the parking ticket can be validated at the front desk, which was convenient.
A special thank you to the hotel staff for their honesty and prompt assistance. We checked out around 11:00 AM and later realized we had left our watch in the room. We contacted the hotel immediately, and within about 30 minutes they confirmed that they had found it. We really appreciate the team's quick response and helpful service.
Overall, we had a comfortable stay, and despite a few minor issues, we would consider staying here again."

"The hotel environment is really nice, facing the sea, and you can enjoy the view while having breakfast downstairs. However, the facilities themselves are quite old. The hot water for showering at night was unstable, and the room lighting was a bit dim. For breakfast, they offer Western, Chinese, and Indian options, but the variety is quite limited.
The night market downstairs is great, and there's a Lotus (supermarket/shopping center) about 500 meters away. Overall, dining options in the immediate vicinity are sparse. There's a bus stop about 300 meters away where you can catch the 101 bus, which takes about 40 minutes to reach the city center."

"Overall, the rooms are quite spacious and comfortable, with balconies offering views of both sunrise and sunset. I booked two rooms; my friend's room had a sunrise view, while mine had a sunset view. My first booking was on a weekend, and the breakfast experience wasn't great due to the large number of guests – many items ran out before they could be refilled. However, for my second stay, I chose a weekday (Monday to Friday), and the experience was much better. I booked for five consecutive days, and the hotel gave me two complimentary breakfast vouchers. The breakfast selection was quite rich, and the staff were patient and could communicate in both Mandarin and English. The rooms also had some smart features, which is quite good for the local area.
I had staff clean my room daily, and overall, I'd give it a 9 out of 10. The cleaning staff were very responsible, but perhaps the cleanliness standards didn't quite meet our personal expectations."

sj91this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

After much thought, I still believe that a well-established five-star hotel is the most reliable choice. This Jen hotel is incredibly close to all the attractions, and you can even walk to the street art murals. There's a decent-sized shopping mall nearby, along with a supermarket and Starbucks. Although the hotel facilities are a bit dated, the service is still excellent. The breakfast, in particular, offers a great variety, including freshly stir-fried kway teow and freshly cooked noodle soup. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Penang!

FRMMThe room was large and comfortable, perfect for families with children under 12. The kids especially loved having the pool right outside the room, making it easy for parents to keep an eye on them. The service overall was not disappointing. The main issue, however, was the presence of Charlie ants, which could be dangerous for children.

Atlas RogueStayed at Lone Pine Hotel recently and loved my ground‑floor sea‑facing room. Super clean, comfy, and literally steps from the beach though it is fenced up to demarcate the hotel's grounds. Parking was easy, and the whole area is convenient — hawker stalls, beach bars, and convenience stores all within a short walk.
Breakfast buffet was solid too, with a nice mix of local and Western stuff. Great way to start the day.
Only complaint? The 3rd party water sports guys clutter the beachfront with equipment, and an excavator on the sand ruins the sea view. There was also an excavator parked on the beach, doing who‑knows‑what, which disrupted the otherwise serene beachfront setting.
Despite these external issues, Lone Pine itself delivers a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay. I would return — hopefully with a clearer sea view next time.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is fantastic! Right outside, there's a night market with the famous Stir-fried Kway Teow Grandpa's stall, which always has a queue. It's also super close to other attractions. They have a gym and a swimming pool. We didn't book breakfast, so we just grabbed a bite at a place right outside the hotel.

Guest UserThe Round Hotel in George Town, Penang, Malaysia boasts an excellent location, allowing guests to walk to some of the World Heritage-listed areas. There are also convenience stores and restaurants right outside the hotel. The rooms are quiet and clean, and the service is patient and thoughtful. The front desk staff even kindly translated relevant information into Chinese for us to read. When I mentioned that my room didn't have a sofa, which was inconvenient, the front desk immediately took me to choose another room until I was satisfied. This is truly a 10/10 service! 👍👍👍 For a hotel priced at just over 200 RMB, it even offers a buffet breakfast, which makes it great value for money.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, facing the sea with stunning views, especially the infinity pool and ocean scenery which are perfect for photos. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bed was very good, allowing us to truly relax.
The hotel is ideal for families with children; our little one had a great time. The pool and beach are both very convenient, and you could easily spend the whole day there without getting bored. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted good.
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is an excellent choice. My only small suggestion is that the pool can get quite crowded during peak season, so I hope they can add more loungers in the future. Overall, I would recommend it to friends and would stay here again.

LiutingGreat service and a fantastic pool! The breakfast was good; I had lots of watermelon juice, and the jackfruit was already peeled, so I ate a big bowl every time. Excellent value for money, and you can have as much yogurt as you like. Sitting outside for photos was perfect. The bed, duvet, and pillows were all super comfortable, and the air conditioning was great too. There are many night markets nearby, a McDonald's, and lots of shows on the beach. The sunset was amazing!

Chua_It was a great stay. The room was spacious and clean. Free parking and the welcome drink were a nice bonus.
The only downside was that the air conditioner was a little noisy, and the shower water temperature was a bit inconsistent, sometimes hot and sometimes cold. However, the water pressure was really good.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would still recommend this hotel.

Transportation: You can take a taxi to the Old Town or walk for 20 minutes. The hotel's area is relatively quiet and tidy. As an aside, I struggled with the accommodation area for a long time before my trip. I'm fine with the OZO area, but if I were to go again, I personally would prefer the Gurney Bay area. The atmosphere and cleanliness are much better there. Many parts of the Old Town are too old and chaotic.
Cleanliness was satisfactory, even exceeding expectations. For service, I didn't encounter any Mandarin-speaking staff, but everyone was very friendly.
Facilities: The rooftop pool has an excellent view directly facing the sea. It was wonderful to relax there every day. The breakfast restaurant also has a good view, and while the variety isn't huge, it's sufficient. In-room facilities are standard for a business hotel. I actually found it very convenient to get water from the water dispenser on my floor.
There are two downsides: 1. The towels are very old and should be replaced; I used my own the entire time. 2. For some unknown reason, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor during my stay. My World Cup viewing corner's internet TV was almost unusable due to buffering. For tourists, poor internet is a significant issue.
