Hotel Botanico y Oriental Spa Garden
4.5/598 Reviews
Very successful stay at the hotel. Rooms very comfortable Service at the highest level Breakfast the best we have eaten so far in hotels, everything fresh, very good quality and beautifully served. Lunch in the hotel restaurant also good. Spa beautiful, massage good - although it lasted shorter than the purchased package, hairdresser also good. Subtracts a star for the bill at the end. I wasn't going to check, but I was thrown by an extra massage service in the spa that I didn't have. I do not know if it was done on purpose to pay more, but in a hotel like this it should not happen, especially since the signed bills did not include such a massage. Additional time unnecessarily spent at the reception. Distaste remains.
H10 Tenerife Playa

The hotel was lovely itself. When we arrived, champage was waiting for us as well as having a buggy take us to our hotel room. (Very helpful after a long flight and arriving at night) -Also tells you how big this hotel is! The rooms were big and in good condition. ( A wee bit dusty for my liking) Beds were OK- not too hard but defo on the hard side. Hotel grounds were lovely, room with a view of the sea. Location of the hotel is more on the quiet front, so i would suggest this hotel is for people who love to stay within the grounds of the hotel and not go exploring. (Unless you hire a car!) WIFI is also good, and there was TV in our room so no issues there. Food- People with allergies would struggle due to the nature of buffet food. There was lots of dairy free options which i was surprised at, gluten free items not to good... It gets incredibly busy breakfast and dinner times, so we timed our meals for when it was more quiet... Hotel staff were lovely from the interactions we had with them. We were out most of the time exploring so didnt use the hotel facilities as much as we would have liked. Would recommend if you want to stay in the hotel grounds and have buffet food. My pros: Large rooms Large hotel grounds Very welcoming and relaxed. Had no issues with smoking (thank god!) Lovely peaceful location. My cons: (Small i know) Not much signs of where things are. Doesnt explain fully the types of resturants and how to book them. Cleaners didnt feel to us they cleaned the floors when they cleaned our rooms. Breakfast and dinner was chaotic for us if we went in the typical times. (7pm start to dinners- tiny bit late? Especially people with kids?) Half board includes no drinks at all in the evening- so this is an extra. Overall a good stay, i would not attend again purely for the food side of things, due to intolerances and how busy it got. Thanks!
Sol Costa Atlantis

My husband and I visited the Sol Costa Atlantis Hotel for a week in April 2024. We were very much looking forward to our stay at this particular hotel as having viewed it online, we thought it looked rather nice. Our arrival at the hotel was quite late due to having experienced a flight delay therefore, we were feeling quite tired, however, we found that the reception staff were not very welcoming or friendly, they just went through the process of getting us checked in, there was no ‘Welcome to our hotel, have you stayed with us before’, nothing of that nature, no welcome drink was offered. Once checked in, we went to our room which considering it was a 4* hotel, we were surprised at how basic the room was. We unpacked and tried to open the Safe to store our valuables. We were unable to open it so being tired, we decided to deal with everything the following morning. We were booked on a half board basis so, we got up the next morning to go for breakfast and both said how incredibly warm the room was and, because of the room temperature neither of us had slept well. We checked the air conditioning but were unable to deal with whatever the issue was. We then went for breakfast which, unfortunately, wasn’t great. We absolutely appreciate that with buffet food, due to it sitting, it can get cold quickly but, having said that, there were a lot of people staying at the hotel if the dining room was anything to go by which meant that the turnover of food from the buffet was quick so, I wouldn’t have expected the food to be as as cold as it was. Also, the toasters which were in the dining room, there just wasn’t enough of them and then, to make matters worse, when you put a slice of bread through the toaster you had to repeat the process 2 to 3 times as the bread wasn’t toasting!! Then we had the coffee machines of which you had to queue for a considerable length of time to get a coffee as again, for the amount of people, there weren’t enough coffee machines. After breakfast we went to reception to report the air conditioning issue. The chap with whom we spoke said he would get a maintenance person to fix whatever the issue was. We informed him we were out for the day so the technician could go into our room at any stage. We also asked about the Safe in our room to which the chap on reception advised that we would have to pay to use the safe. I was appalled to hear this saying to him ‘That’s daft, surely if there’s a safe in the room, it forms part of the room, it’s a bit like saying, there’s a wardrobe but you can’t hang your clothes in it until you pay to use it’. My view is if you’ve paid for a room, then you should have access to everything in that room especially the safe as it doesn’t cost the hotel any extra to allow guests access to the safe in their room!! After our day out, we came back to our room only to find that the air conditioning hadn’t been fixed much to our disappoin**ent and to make matters worse, when we reported it

We were the second couple to arrive since the big refurbishment. We had a room on the 4th floor which had the only completed rooms. More people arrived after us. I have to say that we will be back as soon as we can. The staff from the manager down are superb and really friendly. Our room was really comfortable with an excellent bed and bedding. The towels and everything are top quality and to be honest I am surprised that it is only rated at 3*. We would have rated it much higher. I can only assume that it will rise as will the prices when the refurbishment is finished. The breakfast is the best anywhere we have been and we travel a lot. It’s worth paying the extra. Location is perfect. Away from the multi story mass hotels but close enough to all the restaurants to be convenient. I could write more but I am sure that if you are reading this you will have had enough. Book this hotel for your stay. You will not be disappointed but don’t come next March. I would hate it to be fully booked and unable to get a room!
Puerto Azul

What an absolute hidden gem this hotel is. By no means will it be what everyone is looking for in a hotel, but for us, it couldn't have been any more perfect. As residents in the south of the island, it's nice to have a little 2 or 3 night break in Puerto de La Cruz every so often, to get away from familiarity. For the sake of an hour and a half drive, you feel like you are in a completely different place altogether. The streets around the old town could easily be mistaken for Seville or Valencia. It's on one of these cute, charming and narrow streets that you will find the Playa Azul. Nestled amongst listed buildings this newly refurbished hotel stands out with its ultra modern facade. For us the location was exactly what we were looking for - central, charming part of town, surrounded by restaurants and a few cocktail bars. Simple. The price and star rating of this hotel can be unnerving. We aren't 2 ⭐ people at all, but we trusted our gut and were right to do so. On arrival in 38°C heat (you'll need Google maps to find it the first time) we were instantly stunned by three things. Firstly, how super modern the interior was (the photos don't lie). Secondly, how cute and small it was. And, thirdly, it was bloomin' freezing! Which was an absolute godsend. They do not mess about with the Aircon. It just screamed 'boutique hotel'. The lad on reception was lovely, too, and helpful. Check in took minutes. The rooms are very snazzy (and, again, freezing). No keys or key cards needed, as all the doors have a keypad on, and to enter your room you have to enter a 4 digit code (hi-tech or what!?) Everything seemed almost brand new. Big modern flat screen on the wall, with netflix etc, which is nice in the evening when getting ready to go out. Theres no decent views here, but that wasn't important to us at all. Big, comfy double bed. Walk-in shower with endless hot water. Storage space was lacking a bit, but enough to manage. The mini fridge is useful as it's a self catering hotel, so we put a few bottles of water in there straight away and a few beers. There's a hair dryer. There's a kettle, not that you really need it as in reception there is a 24hr help yourself area with water, a coffee machine and every tea known to man, all free of charge. As we intended, we spent little time in the hotel. Daytime was spent at the Lago Martianez soaking up this incredible weather (€5.50 pp), eating seafood and sinking a few beers, before returning in the evening to use the jacuzzi for a bit, on the roof (what a lovely touch). I don't think this roof terrace gets too much use, but we made sure to spend half an hour up there both evenings, before returning to the room, to the blessed Aircon, haha. If that doesn't sound like the perfect day I don't know what does. In the evening, we headed out to have a wander and find one of the hundreds of stunning little restaurants within a five minute walk. Both the ones we tried we gave 5 stars to on here also (Templo de
