The most adorable little hotel! Booked it super last minute so wasn't too sure what to expect but from the moment I stepped in I'm so glad I chose to stay here. Small enough to feel really personal, decor is adorable, all of the staff are friendly and chatty. Such a laid back atmosphere. The also have free yoga on a Saturday morning, which was a surprise bonus! The rooftop terrace has views over the city and to Teide - definitely worth being there to see the sun set. Booked as a solo traveller and felt super comfortable on my own in the hotel and in the city. Wish I'd stayed longer!

The hotel is located on the centre of town, giving easy access everything you’d want to do while staying in Puerto de la Cruz. The hotel and rooms are incredibly clean, beds are very comfortable and there is a pillow menu if you want softer pillows. The bathroom is spacious, with Dove products provided. The only down side is the mixer taps in the shower are a bit iffy, so every 10-15 seconds you get a blast of hot water, followed by a blast of cold!! We booked a room with a balcony, which is at the front of the hotel. There is a bit of noise from the street, but nothing that kept us awake; if you’re a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. The rooftop bar, sundeck, pool is really nice and gives great views of Mt Tiede and is great for watching the sunset. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel, but there’s a fabulous coffee shop next to the hotel with gorgeous bagels and pastries and lots of other options within a few minutes walk. Would definitely stay here again!

DON'T COME HERE! It's a cheap and crap hotel! First, the cleaing lady stoled my pijama in the first week. They said it missed. Wow, what a difference... it's gone and I never gonne use it. It was many discussing at the reception and the manager said that 40 EUR is too much for a pijama, the hotel don't pay for it, they give me a voucher in a local shop (it's a cheap one). My pijama was from the shop called Reserved in Hungary. It was the price. I don't think that the manager knows the prices in the european cities, she/he should check it on the internet. The whole situation is emberrassing, the made me fool and they were just laughing at the reception. One of them told me it is not their fault. Then who's? Mine? They are a liar hotel, they don't want to take responsibilities for anything. The "best" is, that we got 2 free drinks after that we spend 2 weeks here, paid for a better room and my clothes were disappeard. Wow. I could wear them. Oh, not. And here comes the other things you should consider before you book: 1. If you book a room with balcony you should know that you will get the room above a street. It's noisy, and loud. You will hear the people at 2-3am screaming, speaking, singing as well. 2. You will smell the smoking on the balcony and in the room. There is a Café under the balcony, where people are smoking all the time, every day. 3. Your neighbours will smoking, you will smell it in the room and on the balcony. 4. The rooms are loud, CRAZY LOUD. We were hearing the speaking, walking and throwing something, and using the cupboard above us until 1-2am. 5. The room's door are LOUD. You can just shut it. So you will hear it 6am and 2am as well. 6. We heard the neighbours on the toilet, great... 7. The cleaning is a joke. The nice thing is the location and 2 girls was pretty kind by breakfast. The others are useless and they can't speak an english. It was a bad experience, we are really disapponted.

First the good points. Extremely clean even better than some 5 stars we visit. Breakfasts are satisfactory but repetitive. Location - good if you want the middle of the town. Staff were friendly. Now the not so good especially for those visiting from the UK with TUI. Do not expect a balcony. Expect background echoing noise regardless of room, with or without balcony. Don’t expect any support or visibility from TUI. Our TV had a large crack in the screen, but it didn’t matter as there was only one English language station (BBC World News). The air conditioning appears impossible to control, being either on or off, with adjustments making little difference. We found opening the window was best, but then the outside noise increases. Not enough sun beds on some occasions. The Pool was cold. The bar/food wasn’t open every day. No in-room tea/coffee making facilities. We’ve been to Tenerife ten times and this was the third two week visit to Puerto de la Cruz. The facilities in the hotel were too limited for long stays. For those on a short break that don’t particularly want quiet, this hotel is an above average 3 star. For those staying longer, consider somewhere else. Don’t visit with TUI as holidays with TUI are not what they use to be.

You don't get a second chance to make a first impression and an unmanned 24/7 reception @ 9pm formed ours. "Probably on a break" said one of the other guests - who it turned out was absolutely right. We waited, but a sign telling us would have been nice! And waiting was something we got really good at during a 7 night stay at DWO Nopal. Waiting for a roof bar to open that's closed until Wednesday each week and a pool that does't open until 11am each day. Waiting 10 mins each morning for a coffee from the world's slowest coffee machines, then a wait for a seat to drink the coffee from the machine that took all morning to half fill a cup! The only two things we didn't wait for was someone to clear a table so we could eat breakfast, we did that ourselves each day, otherwise we'd still be there at lunch! And we didn't wait for the lift, probably made by the same company as Nopal's coffee trickling machines. The other issue is NOISE, a major issue for people on the fourth floor (there's a one in 4 chance you will be) as it's directly below the roof where chairs and tables scrape about from 07:30 each day. Apparently the issue was the hotel was full...should we wait for someone to check out then? NOISE is also a major issue for people on the entrance side of the hotel. Forget about sleeping with a door or window open! So just pray you're not on the fourth floor and facing the street (yawns). Dopal will be waiting a very very long time to get a 4th star (and arguably should lose one of its 3) if it doesn't start to focus on the service outside of the rooms. Put simply Nopal is a hotel that's very much form over function. It looks great but it doesn't work very well.

A great hotel in a convenient location just off Plaza el Charco, lovely room, staff helpful and friendly, a pool with a view and great food at the rooftop bar and restaurant. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Would stay here again.

Perfect choice for us as walkers with a car who enjoy authentic bars and restaurants but not too bothered about beaches! Central town location in a pedestrianised area, away from the larger resort hotels. Quiet at night. Lots of coffee bars, tapas bars and restaurants around. You can't drive to the hotel but in 9 days there was always plenty of space available for free at the large municipal car park on Explanada del Muelle and it's a short walk in to the hotel. Really not a problem. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The room was immaculately cleaned every day, although we would have been happy for the towels not to be replaced every day. The roof terrace was lovely when the sun was shining, including for breakfast which was very good. The small rooftop pool looked nice but we didn't use it. A bar for the terrace is open 5 days a week and is friendly but quiet. Overall we had a lovely stay.
