Yamashiroya Ryokan
4.3/517 Reviews
Best experience I could get from this place was the owner being a great cook and exceptional with her conversations and mannerisms in sending and welcoming her customers. Location is wonderful too, as it is quiet yet not far from the main areas to eat and transit in Yamagata. Honestly 1 of a hidden gem. Only drawback would probably be the hot tub as she is handling it on her own and if there are multiple people living there that night, it can get a little dirty, so I'll keep to using the showers would do. Love the place so much!

1 night 2 day, to go to Sakata fireworks festival I used 3 rooms for 6 families. I was saved by changing the check-in time zone for this convenience. I didn't tell you that there was an elderly person, so it was a room that went up the steep stairs, so I learned that if I told you at the time of booking from the next time, I might be given a little preferential treatment. Although it is a very old building, the exterior has been renovated and the inside has been cleaned cleanly. The corridor was shiny even if I walked barefoot. I didn't use it because brown water came out of the water supply in the bathroom in the room. I think it is better to bring earplugs when sleeping because I can hear the voice and snoring of the next guest. There is no toilet in the room. There was one bath for men and women, and it was a bath with a slightly larger bathtub and 3 showers for women. About 4 people entered at the same time. It was available until 12 o'clock at night. I could use it around 6 o'clock in the morning. Breakfast was a dish that made the nutritionally balanced body happy, mainly vegetables, and it was very delicious. I was really happy with such a meal because eating out is the main thing during the trip. After all, the rice is delicious! It was Tsuya hime that day. It was a fluttering stay, but the host was very kind and kind. thank you for your help.

Very satisfied, although the furnishings are a bit old, but it has a sense of age and is very clean. The Japanese breakfast is especially good. It changes every day.
Pension Amitire

The pension was truly amazing, the host were awesome couldn't do enough to help. There was the language barrier, but it was broken down by using the app. THE FOOD!!! I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants in my life and the owner who cooked our meals I put his food as .Michelin quality food. Rated 10/10. Unfortunately the owners have sold and will be leaving in June 2025, so be quick to experience the lodge.

Spacious for me. Although a bit old it good conditions. Only issue is thar the aircon it either on or off and it pretty warm so for late autumn and winter it is alright. Breakfast is either Japanese or western and the lounge is cosy. The carpark is a multi storey carpark west of the hotel so to drive past the building and anticlockwise. Good deal when I book it for 1 night. There a family mart right below.

The front desk service of the hotel was very professional. The parking brother even asked my name first, and then led me to the front desk to check-in. The room has a large window to enjoy the Sea of Japan. The wind on the beach was very strong that day, but the room would not be disturbed by the sound. The hot spring female soup has two districts, one is stone, the other is wooden, there is an outdoor area, because I have tattoos, so I avoid the crowd to go to the soup, the space is very comfortable. The next day, the breakfast was quite satisfactory, the usual Japanese traditional breakfast, but there was also coffee to drink. Very satisfied experience, I hope to have the opportunity to visit again.

Temporary order, so it is not cheap But there are not many choices in the countryside, it is very good to be close to Xinzhuang Shinkansen Station. The hotel has a sense of age as a whole, but it is neat and clean The only problem is the laundry dryer in the laundry room, paid 200 to dry for an hour, the clothes are still wet

The proprietor is the loveliest lady you'll ever meet, and the location is walkable from the Tsuruoka station. There's just a stale scent in the corridors even though the windows are open for ventilation

It looked very old hotel. Overall, the entrance and corridor were dark, and the air conditioning had about 5 buttons on the air conditioner, and there were few choices because the room temperature was set from among them, and it was a little cold. The bed was clean and comfortable. The cleaning was good and there was no dust accumulating in the corner of the room or at the end of the door.

It is reachable walking from the central station if you do not have too much luggage. Staff is helpful and the room comfortable. At that price remains a very good deal.
