Top rated hotels in Nara Prefecture

Haruya Naramachi

It is a building that feels the age at first glance, but when I stepped in, the nostalgic space that was carefully maintained spread. The room I stayed in ”Awafuji” was a really nice room. In a tatami room with a wide 々, the ceiling is high and you can feel ”I came to stay at my grandparents' house”. I thought it was lit up without worrying when I saw the garden at night. It was only once that I was able to meet the staff because it was a corona cherry blossom, but I was able to feel the hospitality of the hospitality. I would like to let you go again.

Tenpyo Ryokan

The location is right in the shopping street and also at the Kintetsu exit, it is only 15 minutes to go to the park. The staff is warm and courteous, the hot springs are fine but quiet enough. The hotel is old but tidy, there is no daily necessities except old towels, including a blow dryer in the hot spring area, and there is nothing towels lock. Of course, this price can't be too much, remember this is a hotel. I was impressed by the invincible location and courteous staff, I can't say whether I like it or not.
Hotel Pagoda
4.5/568 Reviews
Welcomed right from the get go even though our room wasn't quite ready! The staff were incredibly kind. Honestly, finding an affordable accommodation in Nara at this good of a location does not come easy, and so if you're traveling on a budget this is an excellent option. Room was very clean, air conditioning worked very well on those hot summer days, we were in the budget room but it was still decently comfortable and spacious for two people. Definitely would recommend.
Ryokan Hakuhou

Stayed during the shosoin exhibition. I found that I was looking for a private room (because the guest house is impossible) because I only use it to sleep almost on a solo trip. It was a room of 4 tatami mats and half, but there was no problem using it alone, and the joint toilet and toilet were cleaned cleanly. The bath is a hot spring, and it is not timing or batting with other guests, and it is rental every day. It was very good to put your legs in a big bath because I was very tired to walk a lot. I only met at check-in, but the staff also felt good with a smile and stayed with peace of mind. Because it is an old building, the door opening and closing and the voice in the corridor are echoing. I wonder if anyone who cares. It was very convenient to make a tourist base within walking distance from the station and Nara Park.
The Deer Park Inn
4.5/522 Reviews
I would highly recommend staying at The Deer Park Inn if you are stopping by Nara. It is located very close to the hill where you will get the most beautiful view of the sunset in the evenings, and you will wake up to views of the deer roaming around the front of the hotel. The receptionist was so funny and nice, we really felt at home here and would love to come and stay again. Facilities are perfect, clean and well-maintained.
Shigisan Kanko Hotel
4.3/53 Reviews
I visited Shigisan during Christmas and I stayed at Shigisan Kanko Hotel. The hotel arranged a shuttle to pick me up at the train station and the check in was very easy. There were two onsen pools for the guests and both breakfast and dinner were included in my booking. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Shigisan!
Hotel Essor (Adult Only)
4.1/513 Reviews
How do you say it, it feels like the original love hotel, the first time I stayed in this room, it feels a bit strange. The room is very big, very colorful, if you mind to be careful. There is a certain distance from the Kintetsu Daihe Nishiji Temple and the Shin-Omiya Station. In the middle of the two stations, the urban pavement is the kind of non-slip ground, and it is difficult to carry the luggage. But the scenery along the road is great. Going to Nara will pass through a river with cherry blossoms on both sides. Going to the Yamato Station and passing the Pingcheng Palace, the unexpected scenery. The key to the room must be handed over to the customer's front desk. In fact, it was found that it was good to choose a hotel near the Dahe Xidasi Station. The station was very big and it was very convenient to go there. The hotel was cheaper than the Nara Station.
Nara Ryokan

I stayed here for 2 nights with my family of 4 (a couple and 2 elementary school students) during the year-end and New Year holidays. This inn seems to have opened in October 2022 after being renovated from another ryokan, so it feels more for foreigners than for Japanese people. Of course, the staff can communicate in Japanese, but they seemed to be foreign nationals. All staff were friendly. It was my first time in Nara, but the location was good. It is close to Nara Park, and all shrine areas such as Kasuga Taisha are within walking distance. It is also an area where there are many stylish restaurants, so I think adults can enjoy it. My family had two elementary school students who liked and disliked meals, so I prefer family restaurants and Italian restaurants rather than bars and izakayas, but it was okay. There is no elevator, but the suitcases and luggage I left before check-in were carried to the room. It's a wooden building, so the walls are thin, and there was a sign saying no loud noises. The bath is a hot spring and the spring quality is good, but it cannot be said that it is large. There are 3 showers in the men's bath and 10 lockers with locks in the dressing room, but it was so cramped if two adults changed clothes at the same time. If you are an adult, it is better to have about 2 people at the same time, and if 3 to 4 people enter, it will be full. It's just a little bigger than a home bath. There was one coin laundry. You need to bring your own detergent, but there is a washing machine and dryer, which is recommended for long-term guests and those who want to keep luggage to a minimum. Necessary amenities are available at the front desk. There is no refrigerator and TV in the room, so it would be nice if it was easy, but it was a little inconvenient when drinking alcohol bought at a convenience store in the room. The toilet in the room has also been renovated, and it feels like a clean home toilet.
