"Xiao Shijie" Domestic Travel 📍Jiangxi
Every time I travel to an unfamiliar new destination, I am used to looking for a shop with a relatively high ranking on the Internet. I don't ask for how authentic it is, but at least I won't step on thunder. This shop did not disappoint us, and there are many branches. Wherever you go, you can usually find one nearby. This shop is near the sculpture factory and can be reached on foot.
[Taste]
|Duchang Dou Chong Stewed Fish Head^It is worthy of being the first recommendation of both the store and the diners. The soup base is mellow, the fish head is very fresh and tender, and there is no fishy taste at all. The pepper itself has a little spicy taste. It is recommended that foreign tourists like us who have a light taste order non-spicy.
|Grandma's Braised Pork^Fat but not greasy, each piece is very tasty and goes well with rice.
|Gardenia^It is not on the regular menu, but a seasonal dish. I haven't eaten it before, so I tried it. I added chili peppers and fried it according to local habits. It feels okay, but it is not particularly amazing. It would be better if there is a little less oil.
|Signature milk tea ice powder^Although it is a signature dish, I suggest not to order it if there are not many people, because the portion is too big, a whole pot, and the two of us drank less than a quarter of it, which is a waste. The taste is of course still okay, but the gimmick is more serious, so it is not necessary to order it. Or the store can offer small portions.
|Dumplings^Because it is a local specialty, I have to try it, but to be honest, the taste is average, dumplings are still the best in the north, haha.
[Service]
The service is also quite enthusiastic. The aunt in charge of our side can probably tell that we are foreign tourists at a glance, and she is very enthusiastic to introduce the special dishes and how to eat them.
If there is a disadvantage, the dishes are a bit salty, maybe the local taste is heavy.
