Macau Tower, officially known as Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center, stands as a significant landmark in Macau, soaring to 338 meters in height. This tower is not only a member of the World Federation of Great Towers but also holds the title for the world's highest commercial bungee jump at 233 meters, offering adrenaline-pumping experiences like the Skywalk and Tower Climb. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Macau and its surroundings from the Observation Deck or dine in the revolving restaurant for a scenic meal.

The Venetian Macau Resort in Macau is renowned for its opulent interiors that replicate the beauty of Renaissance Venice, complete with architectural canals, gondolas, and singing gondoliers under a painted blue sky, creating an immersive Venetian experience. Visitors can marvel at the Italianate interiors, ornate moldings, and lavish decorations. The resort's 'East meets West' theme presents a harmonious blend of Italian and Chinese styles.

The Londoner Macau, a reimagined British-themed integrated resort, stands as a beacon of British culture and design in the heart of Macau's Cotai Strip. With its exterior facade modeled on the iconic Houses of Parliament and a life-sized Elizabeth Tower. Inspired by the greatest in Victorian design, the Crystal Palace atrium serves as a spectacular welcome space for guests, leading them to explore the resort's numerous London-inspired restaurants, retail offerings, and entertainment. The resort's completion in May 2023 marked the addition of new attractions and facilities, including the Suites by David Beckham and Londoner Court.

Studio City Macau is a cinematically themed integrated resort that offers an array of entertainment experiences, making it a standout attraction in Macau. The resort is renowned for its Hollywood-inspired Art Deco design and features the world's first and highest figure-8 Ferris wheel, the Golden Reel, which has become an iconic landmark of the city. As the Ferris wheel traverses the track, riders will experience a series of inclines, declines, and curves.

Food Guide

Macau's cuisine integrates the culinary essence of Portugal and Southeast Asia, known for its distinctive snacks such as African Chicken, Pork Chop Bun, Crab Congee, Portuguese Egg Tart, and Sawdust Pudding, presenting a unique authentic flavor and the fusion of multiculturalism.

African Chicken is one of the classics in Macanese Portuguese cuisine, usually made with a thick sauce cooked with red chili, pepper powder, garlic, and other spicy seasonings, poured over the roasted chicken. Sometimes, the recipe for this dish also incorporates features of South Asian cuisine, using spicy curry sauce instead, making its taste even more unique. African Chicken is not only representative of Macau's Portuguese cuisine but also a perfect combination of Portuguese and Southeast Asian flavors that both locals and tourists love.

The Macau Pork Chop Bun is a sandwich with a pan-fried or deep-fried pork chop, usually spread with butter, famous for its fresh and sweet meat quality and rich flavor without being greasy. The bread for the Pork Chop Bun varies, with some using crispy pork buns, others choosing soft French bread or pineapple buns, while the pork chop comes in different flavors such as marinated pan-fried, curry-seasoned, or breaded and fried. The Macau Pork Chop Bun is not only a gourmet choice for tourists but also a favorite daily food for locals, with many famous shops like Tai Lei Loi Kei offering this classic snack.

Macau Crab Congee is an authentic delicacy that combines a smooth and sweet congee base and rich crab meat, making it a distinctive snack in Macau. This congee is not only delicious but also emphasizes the freshness of ingredients and meticulous preparation during cooking, ensuring that each bite offers the fresh sweetness of the crab. In Macau, many well-known restaurants such as Seng Cheong Restaurant and Luk Kei Noodle are famous for making Crab Congee, which has become a must-try delicacy for tourists and locals.

The Macau Portuguese Egg Tart is a small cream puff pastry characterized by its caramelized surface, fragrant and soft, sweet but not cloying. It was improved by the British Andrew Stow in 1989 based on traditional Portuguese pastries, reducing the sugar content, and adding cream to make its texture even more delicate. Portuguese Egg Tarts can be eaten hot or cold, and when consumed, can be sprinkled with cinnamon or powdered sugar to enhance the flavor, becoming a popular dessert in Macau and the Asian region.

Staying connected in Macau is crucial for navigation, payments, and communication.

Credit/Debit Cards:

Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted at hotels, casinos, upscale restaurants, and malls. American Express is less common, accepted at luxury venues, but may incur surcharges (~2–4%).

Notify your bank of your travel to avoid card blocks. Select MOP at terminals to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees.

ATMs and Cash Withdrawals:

Most ATMs accept foreign cards (Visa, Mastercard, and some American Express). Find them at the airport, ferry terminals, casinos, 7-Eleven, and banks.

Look for PLUS (Visa) or Cirrus (Mastercard) logos.

Macau travel guide and discussion

Two sides of Macau: Many travelers split their time between the heritage‑rich Old Town around the Ruins of St. Paul’s and Senado Square and the climate‑controlled spectacle of the Cotai resort district. A common rhythm is a morning cobblestone wander for history and snacks, then late‑day resort hopping for shopping and shows. Getting around with ease and less spend: Most visitors rely on a web of free hotel shuttle buses linking the airport, ferry terminals and major resorts, often usable even if you’re not a guest. For Hong Kong–Macau transfers, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge shuttle bus is frequently noted as the cheapest, 24‑hour option, while ferries remain a comfortable alternative if your hotel sits near a terminal; inside the city, walking the historic core and short hops by public bus/LRT cover the rest. Timing matters: Crowds build quickly at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, so many suggest arriving early to photograph before tour groups. In contrast, Cotai shines after dark—Wynn Palace’s free gondola‑style cable car paired with its musical fountain is widely recommended from sunset into the evening; autumn (Oct–Dec) is often cited as the most comfortable season for walking. Who it’s great for (and what to eat): Families highlight the resort comfort—Galaxy Macau’s spotless rooms, kid‑friendly pools and clubs, and all‑under‑one‑roof dining simplify logistics—while first‑timers often add Taipa Village for casual bites and souvenirs. Across posts, Macanese staples like egg tarts and pork chop buns are go‑to refuels, with resort buffets reserved for a splurge night.

Fishman Folds Happiness @ Fishman — traveler post in Macau

Fishman Folds Happiness @ Fishman

Fisholic, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommended restaurant in Hong Kong and Macau, is turning six this year! Such a celebratory restaurant naturally has some special events, so my husband and I went with friends to celebrate their "Fishman Festival." To celebrate its sixth anniversary, Fisholic has partnered with the popular local craft beer bar and restaurant Second Draft & Friends to open a one-month Fisholic X Second Draft & Friends pop-up store in Causeway Bay starting October 16th. Even at the entrance, the adorable window stickers added to the celebratory atmosphere. Inside, there were many Fisholic merchandise items for purchase! These included the same T-shirt as the character Naoki, sparkling orange peel lemon, orange peel lemon gift boxes, fish soup packets, and more. If you don't have time to buy anything, don't worry, Fisholic's online store also sells them. Of course, a visit to Second Draft & Friends wouldn't be complete without enjoying a delicious specialty drink and a selection of local craft beers. My husband and friends chose this Virgin Pina Colander! The aroma of coconut pairs perfectly with the pineapple, making for a tropical-themed mocktail. I opted for the Gingerito! The combination of ginger beer, mint leaves, and lime is absolutely delicious—a refreshing and sweet-and-sour drink. This is Second Draft's local craft beer, Theresen Für Die Season@YardleyBrothers, with a crisp taste that complements the fish dishes perfectly. After all, it's a sixth-anniversary celebration, so a toast is a must! Then, we tried the new celebratory dishes! These included Osaka-style pancake waffles, Tai Hang fish and chips, and a limited-time exclusive clam and dace burger. Tai Hang fries are a legendary snack at Second Draft! This time, I collaborated with Fishman to create a crossover: Fish Chips (68 USD). It's made with pickled mustard greens, chili peppers, and sea salt, coating Fishman's signature fried fish without fries. The outside is crispy, and the inside is chewy – an exceptional texture. Paired with spicy mayonnaise, it's incredibly delicious. Osaka-style Pancake with Egg (48 USD)! This is my first time trying a snow-white Teochew fish egg pancake pan-fried. The crispy exterior and bouncy interior are incredibly satisfying! Served with Japanese okonomiyaki sauce, it brings out a unique Teochew flavor. Clam and Dace Burger (88 USD)! This is a limited-time exclusive item, featuring fresh dace fish cakes topped with a special clam and crab salad dressing and caramelized onion slices, all served in a fluffy Brioche burger bun. The first bite delivers an incredibly rich texture; the dace fish cakes are incredibly firm and chewy, bursting with fish flavor. The clam and crab salad dressing is exceptionally well-seasoned, savory and delicious, perfectly complementing the sweet caramelized onion layer for a truly complex and satisfying flavor profile. From now until November 2nd, anyone wearing anything blue (including clothing, accessories, hair color, or tattoos) can enjoy a surprise 25% discount on their entire bill at either the Fish & Begonia Fortress Hill or Causeway Bay Hysan Place branches. Don't miss out on this celebratory offer! Additionally, starting today, customers who spend $150 or more in a single transaction at any Fisholic Hk store or pop-up shop (purchases at pop-up shops must include at least one collaborative food item) and follow Fisholic Hk's official Instagram account @fisholichk will receive a free pair of 6th anniversary socks (limited quantity, while supplies last). Stores are also exclusively offering the new Fish-Flavored Milk Tea, and there's also a 40% off city'super thank-you event coming up – stay tuned for official updates!

Experience a British getaway at The Londoner Macao — traveler post in Macau

Experience a British getaway at The Londoner Macao

Macao, the world-renowned entertainment capital, is a city of endless charm, featuring diverse architecture, a harmonious blend of Chinese and Western cultures, and countless luxury hotels, performance centers, and shopping malls. Macao is a city that offers great sights, fun, and food, and it never gets old. Over the years of traveling, I have lost count of how many times I have been here, but there is always a new surprise. This time, I chose to stay at Londoner Macao to experience the romance of Macao's 'British style' in one stop. The hotel is located in the heart of the Cotai Strip, with a prime location that makes it convenient to reach Macao International Airport and all ports of entry. Stepping inside, British cultural elements run through every space, and the meticulous design creates a luxurious stay experience, allowing you to enjoy British sophistication. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, luxurious and elegant yet practical, with artistic touches that reveal the refinement of London life everywhere. The biggest surprise is the Victorian-style bathtub, equipped with spa facilities; take a bath and feel refreshed. The suites also provide British-themed gifts, amenities, breakfast, and afternoon tea, making every moment feel special. The dining options are noteworthy: Churchill's Table, North, Huaiyang Garden, and other British-style and celebrity chef-led restaurants allow you to enjoy exquisite global cuisine in one stop. After your meal, head to The Londoner Shoppes, with over 150 international brand boutiques, to enjoy the fun of shopping. 📸Photo spot recommendations: The Londoner Porch, use a wide-angle lens to capture the metal structure and the day/night views; Starlight Bridge outdoor platform, shoot the exterior wall to feel like you have instantly arrived at Hogwarts; the original 1966 London bus, take photos to 'pretend you are in London'; Crystal Palace 2nd floor, use a wide-angle lens to capture the panoramic view of the lobby; stroll slowly through the shopping center to capture British elements; and don't miss the London Explorer Taxi. Stay at The Londoner Macao, no need to travel far to enjoy an exquisite and romantic British holiday.

It's just 10 minutes to Gongbei Port, Zhuhai Station, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. 15 minutes to Hengqin Port, which offers 24-hour customs clearance—it's fast and less crowded. Once you cross the border, you can take a shuttle bus directly to The Venetian. It's really convenient. 🛏️ Spacious and comfortable rooms Standard rooms start at 45 sqm, and there are large suites over 100 sqm. The space is comfortable and not cramped at all. The price is only half, or even a third, of what you'd pay in Macau. 🍺 A social space for dining and entertainment The Eatery & Brewery on the 5th floor has everything you need. The breakfast buffet is quite rich and includes local snacks. You can enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a coffee and a book. In the evening, you can taste craft beer—my favorite is the sea salt lychee. If you don't want to go out, just order room service—a dream for lazy travelers. 🏋️‍♀️ It's also equipped with a 24-hour gym and laundry room. 🚶 The surrounding area is also great for a stroll. You can walk to Huafa Mall and Beishan Courtyard for dining and shopping. You can reach Chimelong, Lovers' Road, and the Zhuhai Opera House within 30 minutes. Anyway, I think I'll choose to stay in Zhuhai whenever I visit Macau from now on. 🍽️ Isn't it great to save money and spend it on more good meals?

Shenzhen family fun | Window of the World transforms into a fairytale kingdom ✨ a fun-filled day

Shenzhen mom, 4 years of taking my kid out Haven't been to Window of the World in a long time Took Dingdang this time, just planning to hang out But I was blown away by the Wild Country art exhibition! I used to think Window of the World was just for viewing miniature landscapes— the Eiffel Tower, pyramids, the Leaning Tower of Pisa— taking the kids to see world landmarks and snap some photos. But this time, I discovered it has quietly transformed into an immersive family park where you can play from day to night. 🎪 Wild Country Theme Exhibition Located in the Holland area, it's the same fairytale utopia as the one in Yunnan! Featuring super tall, giant earth-people figures, all kinds of cute animal ornaments, and dreamy, scattered wooden cabins that are perfect for photos 📷 There's even a lighting ceremony performance at night—the atmosphere is amazing. 🎢 Rides included with admission Most rides are included in the main admission ticket. No extra costs, making it quite cost-effective for a family outing. I recommend trying Speed Fuji, Hanging Garden, Crossing Europe, Rapids Canyon, as well as Machu Picchu Mystery, Amazon Jungle Crossing, and Michelangelo Adventure. 🍂 Autumn Theme Parades There are many themed parades, including four main ones: the Pastoral Harvest Tour + International Superstar Global Show, and the National Day Carnival Parade + Night Global Parade. You can find the times and locations on the performance schedule. 🎠 Float Parade Don't miss it every night at 7:00 PM! It’s brilliantly lit, and the procession is lively and grand. We walked along with the parade, and Dingdang was cheering the whole time—the atmosphere was so joyful. Spend the day visiting miniature attractions, the afternoon playing freely in Wild Country, and the evening watching performances, parades, light shows, and fireworks. The night views are also beautiful and perfect for photos. Window of the World really knows how to cater to families now. 📌 Practical Info 📍 Shenzhen Window of the World 🎫 Wild Country exhibition dates: Sep 25–Nov 22 🅿️ Parking: Surface and underground parking lots available I'm BISHAN, a millennial mom in Shenzhen dedicated to taking my kid out. I share authentic family outing routes. Follow me to unlock more ways to explore with your kids~

Is This One of China's Best Hotel Brands? — traveler post in Macau

Is This One of China's Best Hotel Brands?

This smaller chain of hotels in China seems to have it all: strong design, consistent experience across locations, and a reasonably reassuring price point. That said, I'd never heard of it! Run by a Hong Kong based conglomerate (incidentally, the same one that operates the TurboJET ferry service between Macau and Hong Kong), I'm also unsure how to pronounce this brand's name. It's spelled Artyzen, but is that supposed to be said like "artisan" or "art-E-zen?" Regardless of pronunciation, it does seem like a hotel chain that 1) you're unlikely to be aware of and 2) one that you should be! The hotels all maintain relatively high ratings on Trip.com, with an average of 9.37 across its entire portfolio of ten properties and while it does have locations in Singapore and Macau perhaps surprisingly for a company with such strong roots in Hong Kong, none in this SAR itself. Its general style is bright, modern and almost Scandinavian if many of its hotels are punctuated with bright pops of colour and statement walls such as massive LED screens and/or vertical gardens. When traveling to Zhuhai, choosing the right accommodation really saves a lot of effort - close to Chimelong, easy to cross Macau, children can play until they can't wait to leave, and adults can also have a good rest. This time I took my children to stay in the [Ocean Code Beauty] Ice and Snow Kingdom Castle Room. The original photos are released without editing. 🛁 Mom's relaxing moment The whole house intelligent voice control, call "small degree small degree" can turn off the lights, pull the curtains; giant screen projection + viewing bathtub, so that the child sleeps after taking a bath, watching a drama, immediately cure the fatigue of the day. Children's bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes, and dedicated washbasins are all available. You basically don't have to bring a lot of extra things when you go out. 🚗Chimelong + Macau, superb location B&B is about ten minutes drive from Hengqin Port, to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is 20 minutes, crossing to Macau and to Ocean Kingdom is very convenient, and B&B provides free shuttle service (requires reservation one day in advance). House of Dancing Water

We watched the show several times 10 years ago, and now we’ve seen it again with our children. Every single time, we are all fascinated by the show and the talent on display.

City of Dreams

Overall, the hotel was decent. Perhaps because it's newly opened, there's no automatic breakfast service yet. The hotel staff were attentive, polite, and efficient. I chose two different room types for this trip and was satisfied with both. I hope they'll add automatic breakfast as a unique feature in the future.

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Tour

Meet at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge highway port and board the bus by swiping your ID card. The double-decker bus goes directly to Blue Dolphin Island, only a few hundred meters from the Hong Kong border. On Blue Dolphin Island, a guide will explain the construction process and key milestones of the bridge. After listening to the half-hour explanation, I deeply felt that the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is a magnificent engineering feat.

Studio City Water Park

Absolutely Incredible , Studio City Macao Exceeded Every Expectation! We had the most amazing day at Studio City! From opening until the very last minute before closing, we soaked in every second and wished we could stay longer. This place has officially become one of our all-time favorite entertainment parks. The variety of attractions for all ages is outstanding. What really impressed us was how much our 2.5-year-old son could enjoy, there were so many interactive zones and gentle rides tailored for little ones. Watching his face light up with pure joy was priceless! From start to finish, it was non-stop fun, laughter, and excitement. The energy is infectious, the staff are warm and helpful, and every corner offers a new surprise. We've already made a pact: every time we're in Macao, we will absolutely visit Studio City again. It's not just a one-time attraction – it's a destination that has earned a special place in our hearts. If you're looking for guaranteed fun for everyone
