Daegu Arboretum

Though it’s far away from Daegu’s city center, it is definitely worth visiting! There’s free admission and a lot of gorgeous gardens. You can even go on hiking trails up the mountains behind the arboretum. This is one of the most beautiful places in Daegu.

Daegu Arboretum is located at the site of an old sanitary landfill.The restoration of the area passed through many stages from 1996 until the opening in May 2002.It is home to more than thousands of species of plants including giant cacti, flowers, medicinal herbs, and trees in 21 gardens.

Daegu The Botanical Garden was built in a sanitary landfill, which is home to more than 1,000 plants, including cactus giants, flowers, medicinal herbs, and trees. In addition, the factory regularly hosts ecological experience activities for students and young children, and at the same time, the Daegu arboretum has been recognized as a good example of ecosystem recovery. This garbage disposal site has been transformed into a public resting garden, covering more than 74,000 pings from 1986 to 1990 to clean up 4.1 million tons of domestic waste. In order to solve the environmental problems here, it was continuously improved and rectified from 1996 to 1997. It was built in 2002 as a public tree park. Now there are more than 400 kinds of trees, more than 60,000 trees, more than 110 flower clusters, 130,000 flower plants, more than 40 kinds of more than 300 potted plants, and more than 2,000 cactus, as well as other supporting facilities.
