Thailand Travel Day 3 Itinerary
Early in the morning, pack up and head out on foot to Tapae Gate. You can negotiate a price for a songthaew in advance or on the spot at Tapae Gate. The first stop is the Twin Dragons Temple, about a 35-minute drive. Once you arrive at the entrance of the scenic area, there are only songthaews, so be sure to agree on a meeting place with your driver.
The ticket office for the Twin Dragons Temple is up the hill, and it takes a 10-minute walk to reach the main gate to buy tickets and visit. The tour takes about 1-2 hours. After that, take a songthaew to Palad Temple, which I personally really liked and is relatively less well-known.
After visiting, head to Nimman Road. The songthaew charter ends here. There is a shop called 'Teresa Teng's Favorite Curry Noodles' that I recommend for curry noodles, satay skewers, and grilled skewers, which are all quite good, although the portions are not particularly large, and one bowl of noodles may not be enough for a man. The coconut juice and their tea are highly rated, and feel very refreshing in the Thai summer.
There are many nice shops along Nimman Road. Mango Tango is a place that specializes in various mango desserts, and the mango-flavored ice cream is quite rich. In addition, the shops like Fairy Tales Jewelry and Coco Corner have very photogenic storefronts. Afterwards, you can walk to Nimman One, which has a clock tower and shops, but this mall gives me the vibe of an outlet. If you still have the energy for shopping, you can choose to walk to Think Park Japanese Street and the opposite Maya Shopping Center. There aren't many big malls in Chiang Mai; the main commercial areas are concentrated in the places I mentioned.
For dinner, there are many options near Tapae Gate. On Sundays, there is a night market at Tapae Gate that is so crowded it makes you want to escape, suitable for good bargain hunting, with both expensive and cheap items open to haggling, depending on personal circumstances. Chiang Mai's nightlife is rich, with many small bars and markets. If you are in the old city, you can visit Anusarn Market, and there is a Big C supermarket nearby, which is the convenience store of choice for those who want to buy local products.
Expenses:
Twin Dragons Temple admission: 30🐷/person
Chartered songthaew (based on my itinerary): 800🐷
Teresa Teng's Favorite Curry Noodles: about 250🐷 per person
Mango Tango Ice Cream Shop: about 150🐷 per person
A lot of people there but it’s worth for the great view about the whole city and area around Chiang Mai. Quite a few steps to climb up and a good car is recommended for the way up the mountain.
Amazing temple to visit. Have to climb the stars to reach the temple. For those that are unable to climb, there is a lift to bring you up the temple. Beautiful view from the temple courtyard, able to see Chiang Mai international airport from the temple. There is also a cafe selling hot coffee that’s reasonable priced
Beautiful temple in the mountain! We took a bike and enjoyed the ride up. The view of the city was amazing from the temple.. Had a great time! And on our way back, enjoyed some Pad kra pao at a local restaurant for lunch.
Shuanglong Temple is a famous Buddhist summer resort in Thailand. It is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is a temple built by the white elephant site and royal family. It is full of legendary temples. It is legendary that a Ceylon monk brought several Buddhas to Thailand, one of which was dedicated to the sixth king of Lanna for 13 years. In order to make his people can also serve Buddha, he asked four soldiers to follow his white elephant to find a holy place. The elephant went straight to the present Suthep Mountain, stopped at the tower that he saw now, and the white elephant died. The king built the tower here so that his people could also serve the Sheri of Sakyamuni. And because there were two golden dragons guarding the mountain road, so that it could be called "Shuanglong Temple"
Shuanglong Temple is particularly beautiful and very beautiful. Because of its excellent location, it is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province. It is above Fenglong Mountain and Fenglong Mountain is 812 meters above sea level. It is majestic. There are many tourists who come here to play. The fresh air here is elegant and the scenery is particularly beautiful. The fun is a super cost-effective punching resort. It is also a good place worth visiting. It is loved and praised by tourists from all over the world!
