Blue Moon Valley located at Yulong Mountain in Lijiang is a must see when you are in Lijiang. If you are ever in Lijiang and you get tired seeing all the old towns and villages than Mt. Yulong is a definitely a perfect place for you to see beautiful scenery. You need to be prepared going to Yulong Mountain though as the altitude will probably hit you. How to come here: I suggest you book a tour agency from downtown Lijiang as they will cover your transportation, food, tickets for scenic areas in the mountain and cable car tickets. Getting There - busses departing from Lijiang. If you go by car, it’s around 36km from Lijiang and 100 Yuan entry without cable car tickets. cycling is beautiful and I would recommend although it’s hilly. Attractions - Blue moon valley has a few nice lakes and it’s the gateway to Jade Snow Mountain. Lovely views. Hotels - Hotels near the village around 10kms out but not too much choice. best to stay in Lijiang and just visit for the day. Food & Restaurants - there are only a couple of places to buy food and drinks. I would pack ahead to be safe. Shopping - a few shops for souvenirs but not much else for shopping. #summervacation

I took a romantic life photo in Blue Moon Valley!!! All I can say is, there's no girl in the world who can't turn a little! That day I met a group of girls from Guangdong in Blue Moon Valley. When my husband and I started taking pictures at the scenic spot, they were already planning to leave. But seeing my husband helping me take pictures, they actively asked me if they could help me take a picture from an angle. They had just taken a lot of good pictures, and they kept praising me when they were helping me take pictures. Then I got the first picture of this life photo! I really, really like this one! (I don't know if the internet can let those beautiful and kind girls brush up on me, I really thank them! Blue Moon Valley is really the most beautiful place I think in this Yunnan trip! I climbed Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in 2019. This time, due to limited time, I only visited Blue Moon Valley. You can buy the entrance ticket while driving into the mountain; staff will stop your car to ask. Signs to the visitor center in the scenic area are very clear, so there's no need to worry about finding the ticket office and boarding point. The scenic area's vehicles are plentiful and well-organized. You buy the ticket for the shuttle to Blue Moon Valley at the visitor center and then board the bus. Get off at Shuiyue Pavilion. It takes 2 hours to walk around the lake, including time for taking photos. I like Blue Moon Lake the most. On the way back from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to Lijiang Ancient Town, I encountered heavy rain. But once I arrived at the ancient town, it was sunny again. The unpredictable weather here is normal.

Blue Moon Valley features an unbelievably blue river that flows through Jade Dragon Snow Mountain valley. From lakes and mini waterfalls to a stunning backdrop of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain itself, this is a great little stopover if you’re in the area / visiting the mountain itself on the same day - because they’re in the same attraction area. The first place to start is so beautiful that I almost forgot to breathe with Blue Moon Valley or the Blue Moon Valley in Shangri-La, Yunnan Province. The Chinese believe that this place is a sacred mountain. Tourists like us can travel up to the highest peak of this place by cable car. The first point is to stop at the Blue Moon Valley and take beautiful pictures with the background of the snowy Shika mountain, a valley that is covered with snow all year round, before going up to the top point to enjoy the beautiful 360-degree view!
